Udder Covers Review and Giveaway

Part of the MBP Pregnancy & Newborn Reviews
**Since we at MBP like to bring an assortment of things to our readers, it makes sense that we offer a range of maternity and newborn items right now. We searched around for some of the best maternity companies we could find and we have been blessed with some amazing products.**

I have mentioned before how we are busy, on the go family. B has school, scouts, and sports; S has school, gymnastics, and dance; we also have volunteering, family get-togethers, and general family fun. We love being busy but with a newborn in tow, we have to plan a bit more to make sure baby C is taken care of too.

I knew being on the go was going to be more challenging with baby C nursing. She has been nursed in the car and other places way, way more than the other two ever were. I usually wait until we are in the car, just for my comfort, but I still like to cover up just in case. I always make sure I have a nursing cover wherever I go, which means I need more than one. --That's why purchasing a few for yourself can be a good step. ProductExpert.com has offered a list of the 10 best nursing covers to help you with your choice. No matter where you need to stop, you will be able to feel comfortable. Here is when MBP comes through again with a company called Udder Covers.

Udder Covers is one of many companies created by mom of 5, Jenny Pierce. While being a mom is her full time job, she also puts in many hours working on and improving her brand, Mothers Lounge, which began in 2005 and includes more than five product lines (find them all listed toward the end of the review). Jenny's first venture was Milk Bands, a breastfeeding bracelet that was created after her own struggles with nursing. Jenny is a hands on owner and her passion is trying to make mom's lives easier. I am all for making my busy life easier too!

I worked with Amy, who offered me an Udder Covers gift set that would include a nursing cover, breast pads, and a Milk Band bracelet. I couldn't wait to check out two of the Mothers Lounge products and share them with our readers. Amy let me choose my own print, which was very generous of her. I had it between two styles-Jordan or Grace. I felt both were gender neutral, beautiful, and stylish. In just a week I had a package from Udder Covers in the mailbox, what quick turnover and shipping, I was so excited to see what Amy had sent me!
My Udder Covers package!

In the package I found some amazing products-The Jordan Gift Set which included;an Udder Covers Nursing Cover, Udder Covers Cotton Breast Pads, and a Milk Bands Nursing Bracelet

The Nursing Cover came in the Jordan print. The nursing cover alone retails for $34.95 and can be personalized-an extra cute bonus!

It is a gorgeous aqua color with brown and white designs. It is perfect for a baby girl or boy and is made of 100% breathable cotton. It is very lightweight and comfortable to wear. I am always worried when I nurse outside and it is warm, but baby C never seemed to mind being under the Udder Cover. It is also machine washable, which is great because baby C is "the spit-up queen" and constantly getting everything a mess. It also has a fully adjustable neckline so that you can adjust it, however, is most comfortable, I prefer it a bit tighter and closer to my body, but you can wear it however you want. The best part about the Udder Cover Nursing Cover is the rigid neckline so that you can look down and see baby without having to lift anything up. I love looking down at baby C's sweet face and catch her smiles.

The next item in my Jordan Gift Set was a 4 pack of Cotton Breast Pads. You can get these with the gift set in the 4 pack for $39.95 or on their own in a 10 pair pack for $34.90. Every nursing mother knows how important breast pads are and reusable ones are far and above the way to go.

I am a huge fan of reusable breast pads, not only for the environment, but also because they are so much more comfortable. Nursing moms know how uncomfortable nursing can be in the beginning and having something soft and cottony can help protect your skin from irritation. The Udder Covers breast pads are made of 5 absorbent layers, so no worry for leaks. I usually wear them overnight and have no issues at all. They stay put and protect my clothing and bedding. They are also not bulky, so they don't show through my nursing bra or tank. Since they are reusable, they are machine washable and come out nicely after a run through the dryer.

The last item in the Jordan gift set was a Milk Bands Nursing Bracelet. These are the original creation that lead to all the Mothers Lounge products. They are available from the site Milk Bands and retail for $6.95 and come in a variety of colors. This would have been so amazing with my first nursing experience because I felt so lost.

This cool creation is a pure silicon bracelet with plastic slider markers. It has a left and right side to indicate which breast you last nursed from, you just quickly flip them inside or out. Next to the left/right words are hours and minutes and plastic slider markers. You can easily track how long baby nursed in five minute increments. It is designed to take the craziness of remembering which side and how long the baby nursed. I would have to say in the early days of nursing, you are constantly trying to remember and note baby's eating schedule and it can drive you crazy. This bracelet is awesome. The look, feel, and use make it a really great product and is a must have for all new moms.

Nursing moms can sometimes need all the help they can get, I know I did. With the help of products like Udder Covers and Milk Bands, my nursing life is much easier to handle. Thanks so much!
