I am so excited that it has finally started to cool off a little bit. The warm air is moving out, and chilly nights and mornings are here to stay for the next few months. It always turns chilly right before Halloween here in North Carolina, at least the part of NC where I live. In my neighborhood, we do it up big for Halloween. There's a huge Halloween parade, a costume contest, our favorite downtown hot dog restaurant bring their truck over to sell yummy hot dogs, and the kids have a blast trick-or-treating with their families. Even the unfriendliest neighbors put their lights on and hand out candy to all of the kids.

As much as I love Halloween candy, I get tired of seeing the same old stuff. Everyone's busy and that means that everyone is too busy to put much thought into Halloween candies and treats. So, when I was offered the opportunity to sample a selection of Halloween candy from See's Candies, I was drooling over the chance to taste those delicious-looking chocolate morsels!

I chose to review several seasonal selections from See's Candies, to celebrate Halloween. I wanted to choose a few different candies that I knew B would love, that my husband would enjoy, some that I knew my parents would like, and selfishly, some that would just be for mommy!

Orange and Chocolate Wafers, with a box of Pumpkin Pie Truffles...

We couldn't help but try the Orange and Chocolate Wafers first. Truthfully, I selected these for my mom and dad to enjoy, because they are both huge fans of chocolate and orange. Little did I realize, the brightly colored orange box lured my son to the melty wafers! As soon as he got his hands on one of those, he was hooked! We all slowly tasted the delicious notes of orange flavor, mixed with decadent chocolate, as the wafers just melted in our mouths! There are about 24 wafers in the 8 oz box, and they retail for $9.25. If you love orange and chocolate, these are a definite seasonal must-have!

See's Milk Chocolate Balls

I also chose to sample See's Milk Chocolate Balls. My husband loves plain old chocolate, and I knew he'd love these! The creamy milk chocolate balls are the perfect size to pop right into your mouth for a quick treat. They are wrapped in orange foil paper, with Jack-o-Lantern faces on the front. They're adorable little pumpkins! They came packaged in a clear bag with a See's sticker on the front, and was tied closed with a ribbon.

For now, the chocolate balls are sitting in a candy dish. Some of them have already made their way to the Halloween candy bowl to share with neighborhood trick-or-treaters on Halloween night.

A bag of these Kosher chocolate balls contains about 30 pieces, and retails for $6.40.

Orange and Chocolate Creams

I couldn't resist selecting the adorable Halloween Orange and Chocolate Creams for Balian. He has the biggest sweet tooth of all of the kids I have ever known (my fault, I'm sure), and loves chocolate. He'd actually never tasted a chocolate cream candy before, so I was anxious to see his reaction to these sweet treats.

Each box of Halloween Orange and Chocolate Creams in cludes five pieces of candy. Ours included two orange creams, decorated with little ghosts, and three chocolate cream candies, decorated with little pumpkins. Balian immediately lunged for the orange candies and was eager to take a big first bite!

'Is it candy, mommy?'

After the first taste, B decided this one was a keeper and proceeded to shove the whole thing in his mouth. Kids!

I am having a hard time leaving the cute little Trick-or-Treat Candy Box alone. I chose this little sweet treat so I could give it to Balian as a special treat on Halloween. I had to open the box, though, to take a photo and everything in it looked so delicious, I seriously almost had to slap my own hand to keep from taking a piece of candy for myself!

How cute is this box? It's the perfect sized treat for a child on Halloween, or for the kiddos to share!

This festive box depicts the scene of a cute little witch stirring a cauldron, and a black cat sitting atop a pumpkin cluster in the night. This assortment includes Milk Molassas Chips, Scotchsmallow, Milk Chocolate Butter and more! I can't wait to see if Balian will be as sweet as this candy and share a piece with mommy!

Mommy's Turn!

Last but not least, the Pumpkin Truffles...

I go crazy for delicious truffles- they are one of my top favorite types of chocolates. I love to savor them- they're so yummy! Normally, I only get one of two truffles as a special treat, so to receive an entire box of truffles that are all mine, is pretty darn special! I love pumpkin spice, and have never even thought about that delicious seasonal flavor enveloped in rich chocolate... as a truffle!

I couldn't wait to take a bite of one of these big, chocolately truffles! I even brewed myself a cup of coffee to go along with it! The inside of the truffle features a blend of cinnamon, allspice and pumpkin and is melt in your mouth delicious! The entire truffle is covered in chocolate and topped with a white chocolate drizzle!

I'm hooked after just one bite!

These truffles are a seasonal favorite, and are available from See's while supplies last. Each box contains 12 truffles, and they're so rich and creamy, I doubt you'll be able to eat more than one at a time! Since no one else in my house likes pumpkin, these sweet little bites are all mine! I'm going to keep them fresh in the refrigerator so I can enjoy them even longer! These yummy truffles go for $11.00 a box.

I'm completely hooked on See's Candies. I don't know if I'll ever be able to go back to eating sub-par chocolates... why would I want to? I remember my sister telling me about a See's Candies shop opening close to where she lives, and she said that store is always jam-packed with customers. It's not hard to see why! If I had a See's near me, I'd be there, too!
