I love fall. The temperatures are finally cooling down, and I am having to pull on light sweaters in the mornings and the evenings. Cooler nights always make me feel like lighting a few candles. I love scented candles, especially yummy-scented candles like sweet baked goods. The aroma fills the air in my home, inviting guests into a sweet-smelling atmosphere. There's also something super comforting about candlelight that I love during the fall and winter months.

I was recently offered the chance to work with Diamond Candles, and since I've just recently started (carefully) lighting real candles again, and keeping them out of reach from little hands, I couldn't pass up the chance to review a new candle! When I removed the lid from my new Vanilla Cream Diamond Candle, the sweet vanilla bean fragrance wafted right up and tickled my senses. It smelled fantastic! There were so many scents to choose from, but I went with vanilla, because my husband is fond of it (most men are attracted to the scent of vanilla- FYI), it's a universally liked scent, it's warm and welcoming, and the perfect scent for the transition between summer and fall.

This large candle looks lovely... can't wait to find the perfect spot for it to live and to light it!

So, the thing that makes Diamond Candles unique, is that they are the original 'jewelry in a candle' folks. Inside of each and every Diamond Candle, there lies a small gold foil pouch. Inside of the pouch, there is a ring worth anywhere from $10.00 - $5,000.00! Whoa! How would you like to be the one to wind up with a ring worth five grand, inside your candle?

Of course, I wanted that ring in a bad, bad way! I wanted to see what it looked like, and to find out if it was worth anything. I had to actually use the candle- light it, and watch it burn down, in order to get to the foil pouch, though. There's no getting that pouch out of the hard wax, unless you want to completely destroy the candle, and I definitely didn't want to do that. I mean, the candle is so lovely! So, I picked a spot I know my son wouldn't be able to reach, and gave it a little fall pizazz with a candle ring, and then gave the wick a quick trim, and lit the candle.

Here we go, my Diamond Candle, just-a flickering away... Looks pretty, doesn't it?

Soy wax candles burn so nicely!

The Vanilla Cream Diamond Candle smells fantastic when lit. My whole home smells like warm vanilla and maes me want to settle into a comfy chair with a good book and a cup of coffee or tea. I lit the Diamond Candle off and on for about three weeks, and finally, the candle seemed to burn down enough for me to get to the top of that gold colored foil pouch! I used a pair of tweezers to remove the pouch while the candle wax was still warm after burning. I know I shouldn't have to say this, but never attempt to remove the pouch while the candle is still lit! Blow it out and then go after the pouch with tweezers. Do not use your fingers!

The foil pouch came right out with a gentle tug.

The pouch was covered in hot wax, so I let it cool off on a paper towel on my kitchen counter, and cleaned my tweezers while I waited. Once the wax had cooled enough, I carefully removed the foil, which peeled right off.

Here's what was underneath the foil...

Under the foil, was a ring, wrapped in a tiny plastic bag. The ring was well protected from the wax, and looked sparkly, even wrapped in plastic. My hubby did the honors of removing it from the bag and inspecting it before he handed it over.

Too big for my ring finger, so I'll probably wear it on my right hand, middle or index finger.

I wound up with a silver colored ring, holding a pear-shaped diamond like stone with accents. The ring itself is very beautiful, and I decided that whether or not it was worth much, I would keep it and wear it myself, because I don't own very many rings.

I was curious, however, to find out if my ring was actually worth anything. According to the Diamond Candle website, if the ring is stamped with a 14K or something similar on the inside of the band, it's worth $300.00 or more. If the ring is stamped with 'Made in Thiland,' or something similar, it's probably worth $10.00, and if it's unmarked, it's probably worth up to $100.00. So, my hubs turned the ring over, looked inside and couldn't find anything stamped on the band. So, my ring could very well be worth $100.00, or perhaps less. Even though I didn't hit the motherload with a ring worth $5,000.00, I love the ring that was inside of my Diamond Candle, and I am still enjoying the actual candle!

Diamond Candles has so many wonderful scents, especially for the fall and winter seasons!
