Keter Plastic Glenwood Large Deck Box (Review + Giveaway)

Part of MBP's Summer Splash & Get Out and Play Week

With just a couple of days to go until summer is officially here, our family has been in full summertime swing. We've been trying to get our backyard ready for enjoying the summer months, which has included some weeding, pruning, moving some things around, adding a little patio to a section of the yard, etc. I've also had to give Balian's outdoor toys a good cleaning- which was a disgusting project. Since we really didn't have proper storage for his yard toys, they were left dirty, slimy and just plain gross. It definitely left me wanting a nice big storage bin with a lid.

Imagine my delight when I was able to connect with Keter Plastic, Ltd. Keter is one of the world's largest manufacturers of resin-based household and garden products for consumers. Keter firmly believes in improving people's everyday lives, which is why they offer a variety of storage products, organizers, and even furniture. Keter is a proud member of Keter Holdings, Ltd., which has been a global enterprise for over 60 years. With so many innovative, handsomely designed, and well functioning products in their portfolio, Keter Plastic offers useful products for everyone!

We were very excited to be offered the chance to review the Glenwood Deck Box from Keter Plastic. As I mentioned earlier, we truly needed storage for some of our outdoor toys, and equipment. The kind folks at Keter sent the product right to our home, and when it arrived, I couldn't wait for my husband to get home, so we could put it together!

A box in a box- the Glenwood Storage Bin was well protected during shipping.

The unveiling... a beautifully packaged product by Keter.

The Glenwood Deck Box arrived in a large box, which was well protected for the shipping process. I had to have a big of help, and even let my husband bring the box outside, as it was a bit heavy. My husband was already impressed though, by the sturdiness of the product, even when it was still in its box.

The Glenwood Deck Box- looks lovely!

I loved the photos on the box the Glenwood Deck Box came to us in. It looked wonderful, and I asked my hubby to hurry and get it put together so we could enjoy it, and start using it! So glad I have a handy husband!

After removing the lid to the box, we were met with all of the pieces and assembly instructions.

One of the most wonderful features of the Glenwood Deck Box, other than its size and functionality, is that even though it's plastic, it's designed to look like it's real wood. When I saw the top and the sides of the deck box, I was truly impressed by design, which captured knots and ridges, just like a real wooden bench would.

Front and back sides of the Glenwood. Look closely and you'll notice the knots, ridges and grooves...

Love the look of this deck box already!

The Glenwood Deck Box in pieces, all laid out...

We removed all of the pieces from the box, and my husband laid everything out so he could see the pieces, and then he read the directions. It's always a good idea to read through the instructions thoroughly, and then go back and read through them again as you put a product together. We had all of the hardware needed, and all we had to use was our own drill. Once Sacha started placing pieces together and got a good idea of where the hardware needed to go, he started to build the deck box, and it came together quickly and easily.

Here are the first two pieces, front and side, coming together...

Sacha, inserting the bottom piece, or the base of the deck box...

Securing the base. Look how nice the box is looking!

The trickiest part of putting the Glenwood Deck Box together, was placing the top, and getting the hinges on right. It took a bit of slowing down and really reading the instructions carefully, but Sach got it right the first time, and his cheerleaders shouted a big, 'hip-hooray!'

The finished product- all put together.

It took about forty-five minutes for Sacha to put the deck box together, from start to finish. I was so excited when he said he was done. I ran my hands over the plastic, truly impressed by its size and appearance. I knew exactly where I wanted the deck box to go (we don't have a deck, but I had the perfect spot for it in the yard). Together, my husband and I easily carried the deck box across the yard, and placed it where we wanted it. I was glad that even though the deck box is light to carry, it's a heavy duty box. I can already tell that it's going to stand up against the elements quite nicely.

A beautiful sight! A lovely looking deep storage box for all of our outdoor goodies!

A great spot- I placed this near my sitting area in the backyard.

I chose to place the deck box near our little sitting area underneath the big shade tree in our backyard. Since the bench can actually be used as a seat when it's closed, it's a nice addition to this space. It also allows me to quickly and easily grab different items that Balian might ask for when we're playing outside together.

The Glenwood deck box has more room inside of it than I even realized. It has the capacity to hold 101 gallons! Whoa- that's a lot! This all weather deck box keeps the contents safe and dry. I've been very impressed that I haven't seen the slightest bit of moisture or standing water in this deck box (we've been having a ton of rain lately).

My first instinct- load this baby up with Balian's outdoor toys!

Look at how much this holds!

We've sort of been using the Glenwood Deck Box by Keter Plastics as a huge outdoor toy box, and it's really worked wonderfully! I can store almost all of Balian's outdoor toys in the deck box. With the toys in the deck box, and not just sitting in a little basket, out in the yard, the toys stay dry, and dirt and slime free! That definitely makes me a happy mom! We're able to fit all of Baian's scoops, shovels, dump trucks, water toys, balls, his little lawn mower, and a few other toys in there. If I arrange everything in a neat manner, I can also keep his folding lawn chair and his wooden balance bike in there. Those are items that I want to keep outside, but don't want sitting out in the rain. We can even keep his play tent and inflatable water slide in the deck box, which keeps me from having to drag them from the house to the yard, and back!

There's the deck box in the background, and the lawn chair and balance bike, which were both stored in the deck box.

The Glenwood Deck Box also has some really great features, like the automatic lift. The lid to the deck box stays up, until you close it, and it doesn't slam shut, which means that it's extra hard for little fingers to get smashed. Balian has had no trouble getting his own toys out of the deck box, with me standing close by. He loves being a big boy, and doing things himself, and this is one of those things I actually can let him do, thanks to the smart design by the folks at Keter. The deck box also features a place for the owner to add a lock, which is a great idea, especially if you're storing anything valuable in the deck box, like tools.

You could use the Glenwood Deck Box to store just about anything your heart desires. It's large enough for us to store Balian's ride-on fire truck, if we move things around! I am actually going to make up a little beach bag and leave it in the deck box- with hats, beach towels and a few other things, so I don't have to tote that stuff outside every time Balian wants to swim, etc. The Glenwood Deck Box would look great by the poolside, on your porch, on the deck, or out in the yard. Use it to store cushions, outdoor toys, gardening supplies, small tools, etc.
