One of the things that sort of gets to me as I get older, is that I often find myself in a style slump. Let's face it, a thirty-year-old wife and mother doesn't need to be running around in the same types of outfits that girls half her age are sporting. I hate shopping in retail stores now (I used to love it!), because it seems like no matter where I go, the clothing styles seem too young for me, or (no offense to any seasoned mommas out there), too old for me. It's like there's an entire age group cut off from the fashion world, or something!
Thankfully, I was introduced to Mikarose a little over a year ago. Mikarose is a women's clothing company that focuses on and specializes in modest, fashionable dresses, skirts and more. After many outings to find a modest outfit to wear to an event, Mikarose founders turned up empty-handed, and the need for elegant, stylish apparel for women was evident... and thus, Mikarose was born!
I worked with Mikarose last year, and reviewed one of their adorable dresses, which I found comfortable and fashionable. You can check out my first Mikarose review here. I was excited to work with Mikarose a second time, this time, reviewing one of their super comforable t-shirts.

I chose the Mikarose Cotton V-Neck Top for my review, because I realized that I didn't have a crisp, white top anymore. Guess it's one of those mom things- you're not permitted to have stain-free, stark white anything! I needed a modest white top that could be dressed up or down- to wear with skirts or jeans, or even summer shorts. I really liked the look of the shirt online, so I knew I was going to love it in person.

I ordered a small size in this te-shirt, and because I've worked with Mikarose before, I knew that the small size would be pretty fitted. It doesn't exactly cling, but it is close to the skin, so if you don't care for tight-fitting garments, I'd suggest that you order one size up. The v-neck on this tee is a higher v-neckline than you normally see, which I really like about this top. I am often stuck with v-neck shirts that seem like they're gaping open, so this eliminates that problem right off the bat.
This t-shirt is a thick cotton and spandex blend, and is available in white or coral. I'd love to get the coral, as well- it would match a new pair of sandals I just got! This top is easy to clean, as it can be machine washed and hung to dry.
Comfy for cuddling and casual enough to wear with a pair of pants...

ReplyDeletei think modesty is important to me because i feel it shows a sense of maturity and elegance. i dont think that a woman needs to wear crop tops or short shorts to be pretty. women in the 30s, 40s etc didnt wear all the things women wear today and they were still considered beautiful.

Modesty is important to me because I think a woman's body is sacred to be enjoyed solely by her husband. Honoring modesty to me is synonymous with honoring my devotion to God. I would hate to influence someone's husband or son to be tempted to fornicate or to commit adultery because of the way I decided to dress.
