Celebrate Mom with Old World Gourmet (Review and Giveaway)

Part of the MBP Mother's Day Gift Guide

OWG! No, it's not new text lingo, but it is really fun to say and fun to try! What does OWG stand for and what is it? OWG stands for Old World Gourmet. They sell all kinds of gourmet snacks and my favorite, alcoholic drink mixes, party over here! A glass of wine and a gourmet snack, it's the perfect combination for Mom on Mother's day!  This is the perfect review for all of you Moms out there.

Old World Gourmet let me choose what I wanted to review, I love when we get to choose!
I chose the vinolicious red wine assortment and the chocolate espresso cream cheese chewies. Let's start with the wine! The Vinolicious Red Wine Assortment comes with three different flavors, Wine Ice, Sangria, and Blueberry Pomegranet. Now, the Vinolicious is like a Frozen Wine Slushy! I love this idea because not everyone is a hard liquor fan and it's nice to have a mixed drink with wine. There are two different ways you can make Vinolicious, mixed in the blender, or put it in the freezer. I'm an impatient person, so I chose to pop it in the blender! This also gave me an excuse to use my Ninja blender, I love that thing!

Vinolicious Red Wine Assorment

So here's what you're gonna need, a 750ml bottle of red wine, a blender, 1 cup of ice, water and your choice of wine mixer.  Merlot is a suggested wine, but you can use any you like. I decided on a red moscato and decided to try the Wine Ice first. Add mix, ice, wine and one wine bottle full of water into your blender. I had to adjust the amount of water since it didn't all fit in my blender, I also added a bit more ice. It blends up to such a smooth consistency with a frothy top.

Wine Ice, Wine and Blender!

Since I'm the only drinker at home, I got to enjoy this whole pitcher by myself! The wine ice is very sweet and I would probably suggest not using the red moscato since that is a very sweet wine, a dryer red would work better!  With that said, it was delicious. I had just showered and was relaxed, made the pitcher and settled in for a good movie with the hubby and my pitcher of wine ice! Two glasses in and I was feeling a little sleepy, wine always does that to me! I was glad because I slept so well that night!

All Mixed Up And Looking So Tasty!

OWG, wine mixers are a great way to liven up a party, or just hanging with your besties. It's best to enjoy them with friends and not alone, no one really likes to drink alone. Now, when you are enjoying the delicious, frozen wine mixers, you might need a little snack. OWG has you covered. Besides getting to review the yummy vinolicious wine mixers, I was able to review their chocolate espresso cream cheese chewies.

Ready To Get My Drink On!

The chewies were simple enough to make. Here's what you'll need; chocolate esspresso cream cheese chewie mix, 3 eggs, 1tsp vanilla, 1 block of cream cheese, 1/2 C instant coffee,  3 3/4 C powdered sugar and 1 stick butter. Mix the butter, chocolate mix, and one egg together and spread into a 9x13 greased baking dish. Sprinkle instant coffee on top of the pressed mix in the pan. Mix together the cream cheese, vanilla, 2 eggs, and powdered sugar and pour on the top of the other mixture. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Once it cools, grab a knife and get to cutting!

Chocolate Espresso Cream Cheese Chewies

The chocolate cream cheese chewies are to die for and pair very well with the vinolicious wine ice. One glass of wine and two chewies later, I was in relaxation heaven! The chewies are a good idea for a quick party food, or to bring for a lunch party at work. I sent some with my hubs to work for his friends to enjoy and he came home with rave reviews! The instant coffee gives you a burst of energy and mixed with the chocolate and cream cheese, it is a flavor combination worthy of any 5 star pastry shop. This is what I want to snack on when I head a restaurant for just desserts and wine! Who needs to head to the fancy restaurants when easy gourmet is right at your finger tips.

Old World Gourmet is a revolutionary company who came up with a creative, new way to enjoy our favorite adult beverages. If wine isn't your drink of choice, there are other mixers for you to try. Strawberry margarita, tango-tini, vodka lemon, or a margarita trio are just a few of OWG's different mixers to try. With a single mix a $10.00 and a trio at $24.00 stocking up has never been easier or tastier!

Old World Gourmet is the perfect gift for Mom this Mother's day, and she will love you for getting it for her! Just make sure to supply the wine or anything else she might need for it!
