Summertime is one of my favorite times of the year, because I get to play a little bit more with my jewelry and accessories. There are certain colors and styles of jewelry that I steer away from during the fall and winter months, but once summer is here, it's time to step outside of the box and start having a little bit of fun!
Not only do I love to add fun color back into my accessories, I love to wear jewelry that's just a little bit different. If everything in my jewelry box looked exactly the same, it would make for a pretty boring wardrobe. I like to browse around Etsy for jewelry, though. I connected with Madeline Barbeito, owner of Simply Mad Jewelry on Etsy, and inquired about featuring a piece of her jewelry, because her jewelry is unique and simply gorgeous! Madeline agreed to send me a piece of her jewelry, and that meant that it would be coming to my house all the way from Tokyo, Japan! It felt pretty cool when my mail carrier handed me an envelope with Japan stamped on it!

I couldn't wait to see what Madeline had chosen to send to me. When I opened my package from her, I found a little white envelope with scalloped edges and a Simply Mad business tag. Inside the envelope, there was a gorgeous necklace waiting for me. The necklace was attached to a beautifully designed Simply Mad 'plate,' and Madeline also enclosed a handwritten note to me.

Madeline sent me a beautiful silver turquoise pendant necklace, made with tiny TOHO beads. This is a nice, long necklace on a silver plated chain (yay- because I love silver). Turquoise is one of those colors I love to wear in the summertime. I think a stark white top with turquoise jewelry is so pretty! The tiny turquoise TOHO beads are wire wrapped around the entire perimeter of the tear shaped pendant. I can't imagine how much time it must have taken to individually wrap each one of those tiny little beads around the pendant! The pendant then sits off of a circle, connecting it to the chain. Along the chain, sit four tiny turquoise flower charms, and one also dangles playfully from the top of the pendant. This gives the already beautiful necklace a little extra touch of femininity and grace. There are also three tiny turquoise beads that sit at the back of the neck, on the chain.

I've worn this beautiful necklace with black, white and a turquoise colored top I own, which has pretty white embroidery on it. I really like the fact that this necklace is very light- feather light, almost. I can wear it all day long without it beginning to feel heavy. Because the chain is longer in length, than a lot of my other necklaces, I can easily change the look up, by layering another necklace with this one. I've received a lot of compliments on this necklace, and everyone has wanted a closer look at the tiny turquoise flower charms! I don't blame them- they're so pretty!
