Gardein (Review and Giveaway)

Did you make a New Years resolution? Have you kept your New Years resolution? Quite a few people have quit theirs by now, but Spring is right around the corner so I have an idea for you. Lets all make a new Springtime resolution. My resolution is to eat healthier and hopefully shed a few pounds. What is yours?

If your resolution is to eat healthier too, I have a cool product I want you to try. Gardein garden protein. Gardein is a soy and vegetable based product designed to taste like your favorite meat products with out the calories and fat of your favorite meat products.

MBP friend Kristin Treat sent me two coupons for any Gardein product I wanted. I had to make a little trip to the Meijer in the next town because none of the stores in Valpo sells Gardein but it was no big deal. I love Meijer! Josh and I decided that we would try the “Rib Tips” and the “Chicken Wings”. However, all the Gardein products Meijer had looked really yummy. I decided to throw the “Rib Tips” in our Stir Fry that night. They were easy to use, looked just like the real thing, and had a unique quality to them. Josh ate his right up, but the texture wasn’t right for my pallet. (I can be pretty picky about food texture.)

We cooked up the “Chicken Wings” the next night to eat with our pizza. What's better than wings and pizza?! They were really easy to make, smelled great, and had amazing sauce. Sadly, the texture still got to me. On the bright side, 4 wings was only 90 calories! Try to do that at B-Dubs!
