I have a sort of classic style. I don't get too funky with my wardrobe or accessories, and that includes my jewelry. Most days, I wear my pearl studs, because they're classic, simple, elegant, and they go with anything and everything. You just can't go wrong with pearls. Silver jewelry seems to go with most everything, too. I don't do gold- none of the women in my family do. So, if I'm not wearing pearls, I'm wearing something silver and mainly stick to earrings because Balian likes to grab at things- what baby doesn't?
Not long ago, I was browsing some jewelry on Etsy (because you know it's one of my favorite places to shop!) and I came across an absolutely beautiful featured item from a shop called Philanthropic Panda. Cool name, right!? Megan Gillies, owner of this zen shop makes beautiful and unique jewelry from necklaces to earrings and more. I was drawn to her featured item, a necklace, because it combined two of my favorite things... pearls and silver! Oh, and not just pearls... colored pearls! I don't have any colored pearls, but have always wanted to add some to my collection!
Megan was sweet enough to send me her beautiful Leaf Pendant Necklace with Pearls to review. I was thrilled when it arrived, and couldn't wait to see what it looked like in person. It looked really pretty in the picture, but the photo just didn't compare to its beauty in person! The necklace came to me packaged in a box made from recycled paper, gently enveloped in cotton for added protection.
The necklace was just lovely! The pearls are not quite olive green in color, but they're close. I am in love with the color of the pearls. I have a pair of olive green cords that I can finally fit into (got them for Christmas two years ago and they've been too small until recently!), and this gorgeous necklace matches it so perfectly! The necklace is a 17.5" sterling silver necklace with a lovely leaf pendant, and five dark green freshwater pearls, even spaced apart on the chain of the necklace. The leaf on this necklace is about 2" in length, which I think is a wonderful size, because it's large enough for others to notice, but it doesn't scream, 'look at me!'
I posted a photo of my new necklace on my Facebook profile last week, and I had so many people liking the photo, commenting how beautiful the necklace was, and wondering where it came from. I have worn the necklace about four times since receiving it, and just yesterday, I wore it to a musicians rehearsal at church, and had all of the ladies admiring the necklace. This stunning piece of jewelry can easily go with many things, but each time I have worn it, I have chosen to do so with just a white top, because I love the way the necklace stands out against the white!

I am super excited to have this necklace as part of my jewelry collection and plan on wearing to all of my holiday events this season. It looks nice and Christmas-y to me, and will easily go with black, white, red or green tones!
