Imagination is huge at our house. I am constantly happily and proudly surprised at what Beckett and Scarlett come up with in those little heads. They truly are amazing and to hear some of the story lines, wow, those brains are really going.


One of little man's favorites is superheros--flying around, saving things, fighting the bad guys (his favorite part), and of course, winning in the end. S on the other hand, all girl, loves princess play. She has a castle and dress up clothes, she also likes to be in charge.

I get to work with some pretty fantastic companies writing for Mommy's Block Party, we are really blessed if I must say.  The Lazy Owl is another new company that we got to partner with and it falls right into that "fantastic company" category.

 The Lazy Owl is an Etsy shop, LOVE, and has been around on Etsy since mid 2011. They specialize in Crowns, Capes, Aprons, and Bags, all great for the imagination. I was thrilled to get a chance to work with them and so were my little ones. Julie was so wonderful to us, she let both Beckett and Scarlett choose an item from The Lazy Owl shop and personalized it just for them.

As a mom herself, Julie knows how important getting what you want and having a choice is. We thank, thank, thank her for that opportunity. We had easy communication and within 2 weeks our goodies arrived in the mailbox.

 Both items came neatly wrapped in tissue paper and tied with ribbon. I love when shops take the extra time to give their products some extra love. Julie also included her business card and a loyalty coupon for a future purchase.

Beckett was the first to get something from The Lazy Owl
 A Superhero Cape personalized with a lightning bolt and the letter B. Beckett got to choose his colors and design, I think he did a pretty good job.

 The cape was a HUGE hit and has regularly made appearances since it's arrival almost 3 weeks ago.

All of The Lazy Owl capes are made with a high quality Satin and fully lined with a cotton fabric. All of the seams are professionally surged and the cape has a Velcro closure around the neck. They are available in different sizes to fit toddlers on up and can be a variety of colors and appliques.

Julie also included care instructions, which I was very happy about since we had a major spill the day after we got it: Wash on cold, gentle cycle, hang to dry, cool iron if needed. B's cape looked brand new again after washing, thank goodness!

Scarlett also got something from The Lazy Owl
A pink Felt Princess Crown personalized with jewels and a purple S, per S's requests. Gotta give a princess what she asks for right? She looks pretty pleased with herself!!

Each of The Lazy Owl felt crowns are made with an eco friendly felt in a natural color and finished off with a gross grain ribbon tieback, this makes the crown fully adjustable to any size head, child or adult. Our crown measures about 3" high and 16" long (length does not include the ribbon). Julie uses two layers of felt and two layers of craft style interfacing to help make this a sturdy crown. Our crown was finished with jewels, but can be personalized with a variety of colors and designs and each crown can be used by a range of ages, depending on the crown.

Care instructions were also included with our Felt Princess Crown: hand wash cold, hang to dry. I have yet to have to wash the crown, my princess tries not to get dirty herself, just spills on her brother, the superhero.
