Tell you what... whipping up a little holiday magic can sure work up a gal's appetite! Nothing gets me moving and shaking like the holidays- the decorating, the music, the shopping, the gift wrapping, the baking, the craft projects and more keep me super busy, and add a special little helper running around all day (with me chasing behind him), and you've got one starved momma! I don't know what is up with my metabolism lately, but I seem to be hungry all the time. With all of the ads and store displays for holiday baking and tasty treats, I could easily be tempted to bake a fresh batch of cookies or yummy quick bread just about every day! This momma wants to keep her girlish figure, though, so I'd much rather go to a trusted snack that's healthy and that's going to give me more energy.
While browsing Etsy not long ago, I stumbled upon something unexpected... FB's Country Kitchen. I wasn't really looking for food on Etsy. I was browsing for Christmas gifts, and a yummy-looking picture of homemade jam popped up, and I just had to investigate! I found that Fran B. makes all kinds of delicious homemade jams and other treats to sell in her Etsy shop. I couldn't believe the variety of tasty gift ideas at FB's! Looking around, I suddenly felt like I was in my grandma's kitchen, which was a wonderful feeling for me! I knew I had to contact Fran, the owner of FB's Country Kitchen and inquire about her jams, etc. Fran was so nice, and offered to send me one of her jams and one of her snack mixes to try out. Double score for me, as I absolutely love jam and have a weakness for snacks!
Original Santa Approved Holiday Snack Mix
Fran sent me her Santa Approved Holiday Snack Mix, all sealed in a cute holiday bag, and packaged in a holiday tin with a cute little bow, and gift tag, too! This good-for-you snack mix has been approved by Santa, himself! It's made of delicious pretzels, almonds and cranberries, dusted with cinnamon and sugar! I love all of these ingredients plain and separately... put them together and coat them with the cinnamon and sugar, and wow- you have the ultimate snack that's right for any time of day! My tastebuds were in utter delight as the sweetness and the spices danced across my tongue morning, noon and night time! This is the perfect little bite for the mid-morning munchies, the afternoon pick-me-up, or the after dinner crunch and munch! I don't feel badly for eating a handful of this oh, so delicious treat! A day or two after I received the snack mix, my dad surprised me and stopped by with some coffee in the afternoon. I offered the snack mix, and we sat and enjoyed it together. He loved it just as much as I did!
Santa Approved Holiday Snack Mix and Apricot Pineapple Jam
I love the sweet and salty Santa Approved Snack Mix! I think that it would make a wonderful gift for just about anyone! My neighbor would love this mix, as would my friends, my mail carrier, several of my family members, friends from church, etc! If you're looking for a gift for a teacher or anyone else you'd like to show your appreciation to this holiday season, Santa Approved Holiday Snack Mix from FB's Country Kitchen is the way to go! This was the small snack mix, which is about 2 Cups or 9 oz. You can also try the spiced up version, which is seasoned with cayenne pepper! Feeling bold? Go for it! My brother-in-law would love it!
Frannie B's Apricot/Pineapple Jam
Fran also sent me a jar of her 100% absolutely mouth-watering apricot/pineapple preserves. I don't think I ever want to buy a jar of preserves from a grocery store ever again! As soon as I removed the lid from the jam, my nostrils were hit with the sweet fragrance of both the apricot and the pineapple, which are two fruits that I love. I never would have thought to pair those two together for a jam, but the flavors work so beautifully together! I first tasted the jam by itself, just so I could appreciate it for what it was... sweet, delicious, natural fruit jam. I love that there are no fillers or preservatives in FB's Country Kitchen's jams... just fruit, sugar, cinnamon, pectin and a little lemon juice. These jams are made just the way our grandmothers used to make them. They are canned and sealed for ultimate freshness, and they are made with a whole lot of love!

I had to taste the jam on a tea biscuit. I spread a nice thick layer of the apricot/pineapple jam on my biscuit and dove right on into it! It was so scrumptious and delicious! I usually stick to blackberry jam, but I have a new-found love for apricot/pineapple jam from FB's Country Kitchen! I love the tender, yet firm pieces of fresh fruit tucked into this jam... it adds extra bursts of flavor to each and every bite! I've enjoyed this jam on biscuits, on toast and even on some crackers with a little peanut butter! Okay, I'll admit it... it's so good that I've even eaten a few spoonfuls of it right out of the jar! Can't help myself! You can use this awesome jam as a glaze on chicken or pork, or you can mix it right in with your favorite BBQ sauce! How's that for a sweet surprise? How about dessert?
