Can one possibly own too many blankets? Over the years, I've collected (and given away) my fair share of blankets. Seasonal fleeces, "swag" branded blankets with names of universities or camps, and bedding blankets have often floated around my home.

Those seasonal fleeces are often too short for cold rainy days. I don't always want branded blankets out because visitors might not want to sit under a blanket with a camp or college name on it (especially if their allegiances lie elsewhere). I'm now in a "hot-cold" pattern all night long, so don't often need extra blankets on my bed.

The Chenille Moss Stitch Throw Blanket

Evergrace sent me the chunky moss chenille knit throw in stormy blue. While it's slightly darker than I imagined it, it is called stormy, so I should have expected a deep blue color.

It matches various parts of my living room decor, and looks great folded up on the couch back. Of course, if it doesn't get folded up, sometimes I find a 4 legged creature trying to take it over after returning to the house.

While this blanket's knitted design gives it an extra oompf in the decor area, I'm really more interested in the textures and fabric! This particular blanket is made with chenille

Chenille, named from the french word "catepillar", is a soft chunky knit fabric.

It's woven together to provide a velvet type texture, a soft and fuzzy feel and look, and can even change shades depending on the lighting around it. I have to say that this is the most comfy blanket I've owned in a long time. Fleece often makes me itch, and other blanket types can be heavy without room to breathe.

The way that this blanket is knitted means that I can wrap up comfortably without getting too hot.

Wait, they said what? When the newest season surprises you and you need your blanket for extra protection.

It's created with a stich that gives some strech and pull, but also allows the fabric to breathe without letting in the air too much.

It's called the Moss Stitch because of the way the thread is woven together, creating a texture that's flexible rather than stiff. This means the blanket is pliable to move but not easy to unravel (unless one's nail happens to get stuck in it).

Easy to head into dreamland slumber with a cozy blanket cocooning you.

My feet are actually warm! I don't have to worry about pulling it up too far, either.

I was sent the 60 X 80 size. It's long enough and wide enough to cover me, any creatures that many choose to snuggle with me, and not slip off when moving around like those shorter fleeces might do.

I actually dislike some of the seasonal fleeces because they don't wrap around my feet and shoulders at the same time!

This texture is so pretty and intricate.

This is also an easy blanket to care for as it just requires machine wash on cold, with a tumble dry on low. It will fit into standard washing machines, so no need to go seek out a jumbo machine, but just wash it solo so nothing gets caught into it!
