Here it is... the end of a vacation. The adventure is over, the photos have been taken, and reality is waiting just around the corner.
For many of us, the end of vacation can feel a little disappointing. We trade the mountain breeze for alarm clocks, lazy mornings for busy schedules, and carefree days for responsibilities. I head back to work tomorrow and I'm not ready to set the alarm clock.
This vacation was randomly chosen. We were celebrating our fifteenth anniversary and I wanted to do something. Why not drive 13 hours to Tennessee? We split the time over two days. It’s been a very romantic trip. Just slowing down enough for my husband and I to reconnect and no talking about work.
Vacations remind us of things we often forget in our everyday lives. They remind us to slow down. To watch a sunset without checking our phones. To laugh a little louder. To spend quality time with the people who matter most. To explore, be curious, and appreciate The beauty of a vacation isn't just found in the destination it's found in the memories we bring home.
As I unpack my bags, I'm also unpacking moments. The conversations that lasted a little longer. The places that took my breath away. The quiet moments that helped me recharge. These are the souvenirs that don't take up space on a shelf but stay with us long after the trip is over.
So while I may be sad to see this vacation come to an end, I'm grateful for everything it gave
Vacation may be over but perhaps that's the real purpose of getting away not to escape our lives, but to return to them refreshed, grateful, and ready for whatever comes next. Until the next adventure, I'll be holding onto the memories and carrying a little piece of vacation in my heart.
