Christmas morning was extra magical in our house this year, and I’m pretty sure you can guess why. My son unwrapped the Nintendo Switch 2, and let me tell you—this console has already earned its place as one of the best gifts we’ve ever given. The excitement didn’t stop with the system itself, though, because the games? They are next-level amazing.

If you’re looking for gifts that truly keep on giving (think birthdays, special occasions, or just because), Nintendo Switch 2 games are where it’s at. Three titles in particular have been on repeat in our house: Donkey Kong Bonanza, Pokémon Legends A-Z, and Kirby Air Riders.

Donkey Kong Bonanza

This one hit me right in the nostalgia. The moment we fired up Donkey Kong Bonanza, I was instantly transported back to my childhood—sitting on the floor playing Donkey Kong Country on the Super NES with my sister. That same fun, adventurous energy is still there, but now it’s bigger, brighter, and even more exciting on the Switch 2. Watching my son experience Donkey Kong again, and tell me how much fun collecting the bananas are, while I relived those memories, was honestly such a full-circle moment for a mom. DK was a favorite game of mine all those years ago, and it continues to be one today. I love being able to share these memories and moments with my own kids now.

Pokémon Legends A-Z

Pokémon fans, this one is a must. Pokémon Legends A-Z feels fresh while still giving you that classic Pokémon magic we all love. The expanded gameplay and beautiful visuals on the Nintendo Switch 2 make exploring, battling, and collecting more immersive than ever. My son is completely hooked, and I love that it’s a game we can talk about, play together, and bond over—because let’s be honest, Pokémon never really goes out of style. Even my girls love this game- it's fun to have games on hand that the whole family loves to play... or even watch someone else play.

Kirby Air Riders

Kirby games are always a win in our house, and Kirby Air Riders is no exception. It’s colorful, fast-paced, and perfect for both solo play and family gaming nights. This one has quickly become our go-to when everyone wants to jump in and play together without a huge learning curve. Plus, Kirby’s charm is just impossible to resist. I have always thought that Kirby was so cute!

Why the Nintendo Switch 2 Is a Total Win

Between the upgraded performance, stunning graphics, and incredible lineup of games, the Nintendo Switch 2 truly feels like a gift that keeps on giving. Whether your kids are diving into adventures on their own or the whole family is playing together, it’s one of those consoles that creates memories—not just screen time.

From nostalgic throwbacks like Donkey Kong to modern favorites like Pokémon and Kirby, this system has something for every age. If you’re considering a big “wow” gift that will be loved all year long, the Nintendo Switch 2 absolutely delivers.
