Germ Free Brushing with Tao Clean #MBPFALL21 #REVIEW

Thanks to Tao Clean for sending this UMMA Diamond Sonic Toothbrush in exchange for my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Growing up, my toothbrush was usually only replaced when we went to the dentist for our cleanings and check-ins. We didn't have anything fancy- it was the plain bristled toothbrush. Placed in the toothbrush holder attached to the wall, we went on our merry way and didn't think about all the germs that could be harboring unsafely on our brushes. After all, they were out in the open, collecting anything and everything around!

Enter in adult years, and while I'm far from a germaphobe, I've become more aware of how I take care of my toothbrush. Leaving it on the counter, brush hitting sink, isn't a good idea. But neither is leaving it out in the air either! Of course, this way it dries, but it still collects whatever else is in the air.

Tao Clean, a company that means "The Art of Clean", aims to provide us with quality products that bring life and art together. Their philosophy of "clean and simple- literally" shines forth in all the products they offer!

For example, they aim to provide us with solutions to keep our smiles bright and fresh, while free of harmful germs with the Tao Clean UMMA Diamond Electric Toothbrush and base. The base contains a germ shield UV light that kills 99.9% of germs once the brush is placed back in it. The UV Light not only kills the germs but also dries the brush after each use.

The brush itself has two speeds: sensitive and super clean. There is a button on the handle to press between the two speeds. A small smiley face lights up for the sensitive level and a large smiley lights up for the Super Clean Mode. It operates at 40,000 brush strokes per minute to achieve optimal cleaning.

The package arrives with: an toothbrush handle with one brush head, the UV charging base, and 1 AC/DC power adapter and cable. Now, for those of us with limited bathroom space, having another item to plus into already short supply sockets can be annoying, but trust me when I say that this is worth it.

I was sent the base and brush in a mauve color. The brush head locks firmly into the holder and is easy to remove as well. The holder is then placed upside down, so that the bristles are pointing down, in the UV base.

The UV base has a nightlight feature. The toggle switch is located on the base's bottom and can be turned on/ off based on preference. Note- this switch doesn't stop the base from drying or cleaning!

As soon as the toothbrush is placed in the base, the UV base starts to work! A light blue light will emit from the icon and will pulse. After the 5 minute cleaning is finished, the LED light changes back to white.

Some things I've noticed:

Its easy to accidently hit the speed mode button while holding the brush. I've had to learn to hold the brush handle lower so that I don't switch accidently between the two modes.

The toothbrush is timed for 2 minutes and does vibrate at the 30 second mark, encouraging you to move on to a different part of your mouth.

The Toothbrush handle must be lined up in the base correctly or it won't charge. Line up according to the buttons, sizing, and icon on the base.

I don't know exactly how long the toothbrush charge lasts for. I haven't tried to run the battery down yet and its not mentioned in the feature. My guess is it lasts like typical electric toothbrushes.. and probably would not survive an extended storm during Hurricane season, so definitely keep that in mind!

It's also quiet! Some electric toothbrushes have hums that annoy me. But this one, it doesn't bother me at all

I personally don't do this, but the toothbrush can be used in the shower. It's handle is water resistant but not submerge proof!

Cleaning and Replacement:

The Electric Toothbrush head should be removed weekly to clean between the base and the brush head. Brushes should be replaced every 3 months or so.

The UV Base should be cleaned weekly, wiping down the sides and inside. The base center is open so that we can reach inside of it. It does not have a closing at the bottom.

Overall, this is a great brand for those who want a base for their toothbrush and for those who want to keep their brush clean with an awesome UV light. Tao Clean also has a facial brush product that cleanses our faces of our dirt and make-up residue as well!
