Do you feel this immense pressure to be the perfect person: spouse, friend, parent, sibling, co-worker? Do you feel this immense pressure to have the perfect holiday?
Sometimes, life is and has been messy. Outside of God, there is no perfect being, object, or situation.. even Christmas! If you are struggling with feeling imperfect, with your messy life, and with finding joy in the midst of a challenging season, then Christmas at the Cabin is for you!
Starring Todd Terry, Marianne Haaland, Corey Cannon, Sharon Oliphant, and Stacey Sheffield, this heartwarming holiday film blends laughter, love, and lessons of faith in one unforgettable Christmas story. This wonderful film reminds us that life is not perfect, nor should it be. Keeping our faith & joy plus being surrounded by our community does matter, though.
Follow Michelle's journey as she realizes that she isn't able to be everything to everyone, and that the impossible standards she has set for herself are making her miserable. Mishaps along the way include a snowstorm, an auto accident, an invited college friend of her husband's, a wolf trap, and a hurt ankle. The beautiful mountain scenery & snow, classic Christmas decorations, and fulfilling music make this an enjoyable holiday film with a great message.
- the main character alienates herself from other characters
- causing a rift and/ or scene, blaming others for their own emotions
- realizes his/her mistakes while facing some sort of adversity
- rescued by a kind stranger.
- reconciles with those pushed away
Christmas at the Cabin has everything to remind you of the real Christmas truth: only God is perfect. Setting impossible standards for ourselves only makes us (and everyone around us) miserable. The Christmas story reminds us of the freedom God's grace and forgiveness, found through the birth of Christ, gives us.
If you are struggling with your own imperfection, be sure to see Christmas at the Cabin to be reminded of keeping faith in the one who brings truth and light to a messy world.
After having a chance to see a screener, I highly recommend that you take the time to see this film this season. It's a great reminder that even faithful people struggle with the demands the world places on us, and a great reminder to trust in God's purpose and plan for us.
This Christmas, even if you feel like lying in the snow, hurt (physically, emotionally, spiritually), God is there, waiting for you. Perhaps God will even send someone to help you get back up again and realize that you are not alone, nor do you need to be perfect.
Christmas doesn't have to be perfect because we are not perfect people. Yet, the grace and forgiveness God provides for us to be who we are supposed to be is all the perfection we need.
