Happy Wednesday, friends! Another day, another opportunity to play in the garden! One of the reasons that I get up between five and five thirty in the morning to work is to be 'done' with the bulk of my work on my laptop by midday, and spend some time doing what I love the most... gardening. I'm still working via my phone the rest of the day, of course, but I love doing that while I am outside.
I was able to go to our local plant sale with my husband and my mother last Saturday. We bought so many new plants that we've never had in any of our gardens before, including:
Borrage
Penstemon
Hummingbird Mint
Yarrow
Astilbe
Japanese Anemone
Stock
Chinese Foxglove
Oakleaf Hydrangea
Dahlia
We also purchased some old favorites:
Tall Snapdragon
Tomato
Foxglove
I also made a trip to the garden center at Lowe's this week, and purchased:
Speedwell (Veronica Purple)
Superbena (Verbena hybrid)
Guara
Persian Shield
Still to purchase:
Cucumber
Zucchini Squash
Nasturtium
I am waiting on my amazing husband to build my fourth raised garden bed, and to help me fill our previously built new raised bed. I aim to add arches to these beds and make a beautiful tunnel to walk through with nasturtium vines blooming across the tops.
I do have some garden chores to complete today, so I'll finish my desk work soon, and then head out to get some of those things done while the air is still cool this morning.
What are you up to on this beautiful Wednesday?
