Loobani Stairs Alleviate Holiday Stress for Your Pet

Thanks Loobani, for these pet stairs, in exchange for this review. This post contains affiliate links. All thoughts are my own.

If there are dogs in your family, you either made a firm commitment to not allow your dogs on the bed, or you caved and the furry four legged creatures take up all your space. When I first adopted Chachi (a year and half now.. whew, time flies), his foster parent told me he sleeps on the bed with a human. At first, he would whine when he wanted up/ down, and I wasn't awake.

I had a chair already beside my bed, so the boy learned how to jump down when he wanted, but he couldn't get back up when he wanted. As he is a senior dog, I become more concerned about him jumping as well, so I decided to look into pet stairs.

Pet stairs are amazing for our furry family members who might have mobility issues and/ or be too short to physically jump back on our taller beds whenever they want. During the holiday season, our pets may expeirence more stress and wish to be closer to us because they sense different routines and even anxiety in us as we check our lists twice for all the things we are bound to forget.

This holiday season,  allow your pets (and your human selves) to sleep better with Loobani!

Loobani sent me their dog stairs for high bed to try out. I've had these stairs for about three weeks, but we were away from home for a week, so it's really only been a couple of weeks of trial and error.

When the stairs first arrive, unpack the high density foam sponge immediately and let the foam take shape over the course of 24–48 hrs. After expanding to full size, put the washable cover on, then move the stairs to the desired location. The bottom contains an anti-slid grid, but stairs can still move on uncarpeted surfaces with a lot of force.

Made for high pieces of furniture, the stairs measure around 30 inches tall with all 6 steps in place. We only need 4 for my bed, so the smaller set hangs out in the living room.

Chachi uses it as an assist to get onto the couch. The top layer of steps attaches to the bottom layer with a zipper, and also has its own removable washable cover.

The top of the 4 piece has a nice square platform that Chachi likes to use to get from the chair to my bed, as sometimes he lays in the chair too.

The stairs also have a "peekaboo" hole in the center if you have cats or other smaller animals that might like to hide.

Suitable for pets 50 pounds and under, the stairs are a great mobility tool for our seniors, or puppies. I've noticed that I get more sleep now as I don't have to pick Chachi up, put him down, etc.

The slope is nice enough that even smaller pets, like Chachi, can use them quickly. He does need somewhat of a running start to get fully up it, but he's learned how to do that quite quickly. He is still hesitant coming down and still prefers to jump out of the chair, but I noticed this week after our vacation, he has been going down the stairs instead of jumping.

Last night, Chachi decided he wanted to get up and down at least two, if not three, times.  When he was ready to come back on the bed, he was able to do so. I was in and out of dreamland already, so I heard him, but there have been a couple of times this week when I've not felt or heard him move at all.

If your pet is brave, they will have no issue using these stairs at all, but I had to teach Chachi (and reward him) for going up/ down. The boy is very food motivated, so it didn't take long for him to understand what I wanted. Now that he knows, he moves up and down whenever he likes. He can still be stubborn and want his momma to pick him up, but I coax him up the stairs instead.

While the bottom of the cover offers a silicone pattern, I did find the stairs slightly wobbly, and based on the space in my bedroom, they are wedged between my bed and chair. The instructions do say to offer more support by leaning the stairs on furniture or placed on carpets, also to prevent moving and sliding as well.

Overall, I think this is a solid investment that Chachi will continue to use. I like how the steps aren't proper squares/ rectangles, as he can struggle with those at times out in the world. The slope is curved and gentle on his hips and joints.

This holiday season, make your pet more comfortable with stairs from Loobani. They will help relieve your pet's anxiety if they prefer to be close to you, get cold, or just want some pets on their bellies.
