Thank you to Phaidon Kids for the books Our Galaxy, What a Rock Can Reveal, and A Family of Trees for review. All opinions are 100% my own.
“I’ve got new books to share!” These are like magic words in my classroom. Children are naturally eager for knowledge and have a deep love of books. As an educator, it's my job to carefully curate selections that meet each child’s interests. Finding a balance between educational content and captivating stories can be a delicate task. Phaidon Kids has shared some wonderful books that have been an incredible hit in my classroom!
Phaidon Kids aligns perfectly with my philosophy as a Montessori guide. I love teaching children about the world around them and nurturing their love of learning. Their books are filled with beautiful imagery and informative content, making them a natural fit for my classroom.
Our Galaxy serves as a fantastic introduction to space. The unique shape of the book naturally draws children in, and it even folds out to create a globe—how neat is that? The artwork is stunning, and younger children, particularly those aged 2-4, are especially captivated. The poetic narrative offers additional information based on the child’s interests, making Our Galaxy a beloved choice that can also be beautifully displayed when not in use.
What a Rock Can Reveal is an absolute gem of a book! It has quickly become the classroom favorite. It all started when a 5-year-old brought in his rock collection to share with friends, sparking an unexpected frenzy. I was wholly unprepared for the questions I was getting, this book saved me! This book provides real information along with some of the most beautiful artwork I’ve ever seen. It’s perfect for older children interested in starting their own collection or for those who love gem mining. The content is engaging and informative, designed to spark curiosity and encourage exploration of the natural world.
The last book I reviewed is A Family of Trees. This small book holds a BIG surprise—it stretches out to about six feet long! My class was thrilled by this hidden feature, eagerly showing it off to other teachers and friends. “Wanna see a magic trick?” they would ask. A Family of Trees beautifully illustrates how trees are like a family and support one another, creating a captivating forestscape perfect for younger children.
Phaidon Kids offers a wide variety of topics in their books, and I highly recommend adding them to your child’s bookshelf or classroom. These books would be the perfect gift for your little ones! Check out their website for an incredible selection.
Thank you again to Phaidon for the opportunity to review these books, I as an educator have certainly found a new favorite company for my book selections. Looking forward to my next book!
