Today is National Day of Prayer!

First Thessalonians 5:16-18 instructs believers to "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Jesus Christ for you." (ESV)

Historically, many of the leaders of America have declared a day of prayer, thanksgiving, and fasting. Officially starting in 1952, and continuing today, we have had seventy-four presidential proclamations for National Day of Prayer. In a world where so many are restricted to pray in secret, I am thankful to live in a country that we can have a declared day for believers nationwide to come together and pray.

Across the United States, hundreds of thousands of people will gather today to turn to the Lord and intercede on behalf of our country and whatever else may be placed on their hearts. I am particularly blessed to be a part of a Christian School where time has been allotted for us as a educational family to come together before the Lord.

I understand that many believers do not have the privilege of being able to pray in a group setting at their workplace, so I encourage you to be intentional at some point in the day to set aside time to pray. Whether it be alone or with people you know have the same spiritual disciplines as yourself, take the time to seek the Lord in intercession.

Matthew 18:20 (ESV) says "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." Let's gather today and seek the Lord's presence for our lives and for this country we call home.

I'm asking the Lord to bless you abundantly! If you have anything I can be interceding for on your behalf, let me know in the comments. I consider it a blessing to be praying for you!
