Thanks Air Robo, for sending over this vacuum in exchange for a review. All thoughts are my own! |
Holiday Cleaning doesn't have to be a chore this year! No matter the type of flooring you have, with holiday prep, gift wrapping, baking, pets, kids, and all that life tracks into the house, it can be a pain to keep the floors clean!
While it might seem easier to keep non-carpeted flooring clean more so than carpet, that type of flooring attracts everything and shows everything! The minute that I sweep or vacuum, the pet or my own feet tracks in more dirt and dust!
This holiday season, I don't have to worry about my floors because the Air Robo P20 will do the job. This robot vacuum is easy to use, effective, and will definitely clean your place while you are out shopping, or even inside while doing some other tasks.
The Air Robo P20 is not a wet/ dry vacuum, and is not a mop, but is very effective at cleaning non-carpeted flooring. I wanted to truly test this vacuum out before sharing with you guys so I've been using it for about two weeks.
First up, let's talk about the Air Robo P20:
- The Air Robo community says that this is the best robot vacuum for pet hair. More about this in a minute!
- It weights 2.84 KG and is incredibly light to pick up.
- It's a black base with a lithium battery and a washable HEPA filter.
- The dust bin captures up to 600 ML of hair, dust, and dirt.
- It arrives with a charging base, a remote (battery not included), a HEPA filter & sponge, Charging Cable, Roller Brush, Side Brushes, and a Cleaning Brush.
- Wi-Fi Capable with 2.4 and not 5G
- Needs to be within 20 meters of Wi-Fi router to operate
- Air Robo App can be installed on your phone and used as a remote as well
- Provides 2800 PA of suction power, the most powerful of the Air Robo series
- Provides a 99.2% cleaning efficiency rate
- Has Scraper Technology that allows miniscule cleaning
The machine is actually quiet, for a robot vacuum. There is a voice activated setting that tells the consumer when the machine needs charging, when it's stuck, and when it's returned to base to charge. The volume of that voice can be controlled via the app.
The Air Robo P20 has an on/off switch on the side of its base. It still charges when switched off, but I've found that I like leaving it on for easy usage. If you aren't going to be using it for a while, there are instructions on what to do about maintaining battery life.
Setting up the Air Robo P20 is fairly easy. Using the provided manual, insert the roller and side brushes, plus remove all the plastic from the machine, filters, etc. The filter goes inside the dust bin, and I recommend learning how to open both before starting to vacuum. The first time I didn't, and trying to open the dust bin, I managed to effectively unclean everything that had just been cleaned!
Find a place for your charging base along a wall. It's not recommended to put it in a corner, as the machine may not sense it's there and won't attach properly. The machine needs to be charged before usage and might take several hours. In the meantime, you can set up the app on your phone, connect to your Wi-Fi router, and take a look at the various settings.
The Phone App:
- This app is pretty basic. It shows the cleaning options, the map of your home as your machine cleans, and can be used to set a daily cleaning schedule.
- The map does not save, so I find this frustrating, especially if you only want one room cleaned. That's when the remote needs to be used to navigate the machine to the appropriate space.
- The app does help you out when you leave the house. You can still see when the machine is running, when its caught, etc.
Cleaning:
- The Air Robo P20 cleans super well! It picks up fluffs of pet hair, leaves, dust, and more!
- There are a couple of cleaning settings: one is a deep clean and the other is a light pass over.
- Spot Cleaning is also available.
- The Air Robo P20 can clean circularly, baseboards only, automatic, and spot.
The dust bin is larger, so it doesn't fill as easily. I like how the HEPA filter is washable too! Of course, with everything in life, it will have to be replaced eventually.
The Air Robo P20 has side sensors that help navigate it while cleaning. The side sensors and side brushes sweep stuff away from the walls but also prevents it from constantly running into the walls. It's a slim design, so it slips under lots of furniture! It also has a sensor to prevent it from falling off stairs, and it can even navigate different levels, such as floor lips, fireplace hearths, etc.
While the Air Robo P20 can sense things, it can still get caught into things. I recommend picking up cords, especially if there is an open end (like a phone charger) that can get stuck in the roller. Also, things, like fluffy bathroom mats, can get caught. Finally, pick up the dog bowls. It will bump up against them as it navigates the floors, and water will.. go everywhere. Luckily enough, the P20 is durable and everything can dry out fairly easy!
Like I said earlier, this robot is meant to be the best robot vacuum for pet hair. Now, I don't have a poofy floofball all the time, but he does shed slightly and recently got a mobile groom in my home to avoid the canine respiratory viruses that are out there. I told the groomer to leave the floofiness on the floor because I wanted to test out the robot. It was a success! It definitely picked up all the hair that was in its path.
One thing about the robot though, is that because the maps don't save from time to time, sometimes on new cleans, it does a route more than once, and leaves other spots uncleaned, because it can get redirected by walls or furniture. I do find the remote necessary to navigate to spots cleaned, and sometimes just pick it up and move it if it seems to be missing a chunk of floor. For the most part, I've been super happy with this vacuum, and it saves my energy, back, and time!
Of course, the dog is ultra confused at this machine and often stares at it, or just goes into another room completely. I try to run it when we are going on walks, and it does a fairly decent job. To clean my entire apartment, it takes a while, but just the front living room and hallway, it's not that bad. I also like how I can change settings from deep clean to light clean too, as I might just need a light floor cleaning versus every single bit of dust! The machine has 120 minutes of clean time before it needs to be charged. I tell you, the first time I did a deep clean, it definitely took longer than that! I was amazed when I opened the dust bin.
The Air Robo goes back to the base when it senses it's done cleaning, when it needs to be charged, or when you end the cleaning process. Unless it runs out of battery, it won't end up in some random room (or unless it gets stuck on something) and I like that too! The floor base also has an option for the remote, but I just keep the remote in the living room, as that is most likely where I'm going to be when I want to use it!
The Air Robo P20 needs to be on your tech gadget list this Christmas Season! Sure, it's a vacuum, but it's the perfect vacuum to gift yourself, because it will make life easier and cleaner! Especially if you have pets, kids, or you happen to drop snacks a bit on the floor. Yes, you will still have to do some work at picking up things before it runs, but for the most part, it senses things and avoids locations it cant get too.
I love my Air Robo P20 and hope you will too once you invest in it for all of your holiday cleaning! From Santa's cookie crumbs to Christmas morning remnants, the P20 will make the holidays easier! '
