5 Things to do with Kids in Sri Lanka

  1. Villa away from home

First things first when going on holiday, find a place to call home. One of the best top five things to do is to get your own private family villa in Sri Lanka. A luxurious home all to yourself and the whole family. No annoying neighbours, no other hotel guests using the grill or the pool. Imagine waking up with a beautiful view out of your bedroom window as you make your way down to the gorgeous kitchen. Breakfast for the whole family is made by a private chef and served alfresco by the pool in the outdoor dining area. What could be sweeter? Maybe only the fresh fruit on the table.

  1. Safari time

Chundikulam national park safari where many wild animals that are native to Sri Lanka can be seen safely in their natural habitat. Peak into their world. Leopards, deer, sloths, monkeys, crocodiles and many more can be seen here, from predators to prey. The kids will love seeing these animals in real life and not just on a screen. It’s a great way to spend some quality time together and some time outdoors in the fresh air. And maybe you all might learn something too.

  1. A train to remember

If you come to Sri Lanka and do not take the famous train ride from Kandy to Ella that takes about six hours and offers the most stunning views of untarnished nature then you really missed Sri Lanka. This momentous ride through the lush, tropical island is one of the most scenic train rides in the entire world. The kids will love the train and the views as much as the adults. It’s a great way to see the country and enjoy the journey from point A to point B. Over hills, under waterfalls, and across tea farms, this journey is truly something to remember. The train departs daily from Colombo Fort and runs through Kandy and Ella to Badulla.

Hovering over beautiful landscapes will make you feel on top of the world. When on holiday with the family this is definitely a must do! Don’t miss out on this majestic experience of floating in a surreal moment.

  1. Elephants at the orphanage

What kid, or adult really, does not like elephants? The Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage is home to the largest herd of elephants in captivity, in the world. Here these beautiful beasts are saved from the wild and nursed back to health. They are not only on display for visitors to see but this is a sanctuary that ensures the population survives.
