Every summer, my family looks forward to a beach vacation.

In previous years, we have always needed to leave our dogs with sitters so our beach trips tended to be under five days. This year, I'm MOST excited about taking our Doberman, Fiona along with us to the beach for the very first time!

This enables us to stay an entire week and I can hardly contain my excitement. Leaving her behind is always tough on me. We are deeply connected and being so far away from her gives me anxiety. I know some of you can relate. I dug and searched and found a home with a fenced in back yard just steps from the ocean. Because she is coming along, I was able to book an entire week away and my kids are counting down the days!

Holden Beach is a new vacation spot for my family. We typically visit North Myrtle beach and have visited a couple others but that's our usual spot. This year, we opted to rent an entire home in beautiful Holden Beach.

We do not have any other big trips planned for our summer so we will make this one memorable and enjoy every moment away. Being a natural homebody and someone that never has a strong desire to travel, a week away is a big deal for me. I'm working on being present in every moment, knowing that these moments are fleeting and will be missed.
