My family is currently living through a hellish situation. It's not the first time we've experienced a situation over which we had zero control. Lots of variables in place, all contributing to what feels like the end of the world for me, a true Type A control freak. I'm hurting- not just for myself, but for my family... my kids in particular. 

In truth, the universe is majorly shifting for my family. I don't know why, and I don't know where we'll end up when the shift is over. We're walking into the unknown, and it's terrifying. Right now, all I can do is take life one day at a time, remembering that while there's pain in the night, joy comes in the morning. Thank you, Jesus. God's promises are the same when things are sunny and when they're stormy. A trial in this season, perhaps a still and quiet chapter comes next, and an explosion of joy comes after. I do not know anything other than the love of my God, my family, and my closest friends. I can't live my life in fear- all I can do is learn from my mistakes.

Life will be different for a while, but it will go on. With summertime looming and many exciting projects in the works, I know that my family will have a lot of wonderful things and people to continue to enjoy, and that is so, so good. God works in ways we can't see, and reminds us that we don't have to spend our lives jumping over hurdles, racing to keep up with everyone else. Our story is ours- it's unique, and it's love that defines us, not trials. It's love that binds us together, and it's the love of God that claims us. Beloved, that's who we are.
