Kick It in Style with Swagtron #MBPHoliday20 #Review

Do you remember that first feeling of independence when you were a child? Perhaps it was when your guardian let go of the handlebars on your first bike and you went off down the street, wobbling but steadily inching forward. Remember those mixed feelings of fear, excitement, pride, and awe?

Children love to test mobility and independence but still want to know that their guardians are close by for protection and assistance when they want it.

Swagtron sent our family two of their scooters for my niece and nephew to try out: the SK1 Electric Scooter and the K1 Kick Scooter.

The SK1 Electric Scooter w/ Kickstart Motor

The SK1 Electric Scooter has two color options to choose from: Firetruck Red and Cotton Candy Pink. Choosing red to suit the color needs of my family, this scooter arrived at the doorsteps during a rainstorm, so the kids had to check their anticipation and wait for proper weather. This scooter has a kick-start motor and rear footbrake that will certainly send your child's independence soaring as they learn to navigate balance with control while zipping down the street!

The Electric Scooter charging port is located on the bottom of the scooter. After approximately 3-hr charge, the scooter is ready for use and can withstand about 3 miles of riding! It's maximum speed is 6.2 mph (using a rear motor to achieve that max speed) and weighs about 8 lbs.

With it's adjustable stem, kids Ages 5-9, with a maximum weight load of 143 lbs will LOVE taking this electric scooter out for a spin! It's perfect for my 7 yr old nephew and 10 yr old niece! It's lightweight and easy to maneuver, but also helps with balance and dexterity of those children who may have difficulties with coordination!

K1 Kick Scooter

The K1 Kick Scooter has three color options: light blue, dark blue with orange wheels, and green. Our Kick Scooter is green, which is easy to see for zipping down neighborhood roads!

The Kick Scooter contains a kickstand, rear brakes, and adaptable stems. Children 40" to 72" tall will comfortable ride the Kick Scooter with its stem height set at either 28" or 40'. This is the perfect scooter to accompany your children through their growth spurts, from age 3-11 yrs old with a maximum load of 220 lbs! It's also foldable and locks into place for easy storage and portability!

7 yr old C and 10 yr old A have been asking for scooters for a while but had not received them yet, so they were super excited to find out that this was a gift to them this year! Seeing the packages arrive through the windows (after all- virtual school means kids are home all the time these days and it's hard to hide gifts), they got to dive into the scooters early, when weather permitted! C's birthday is this week and he was super excited to give both a try!

C could hardly wait for the rain to stop so he could go outside and test his scooter!

Scoring major aunt brownie points, I've been informed that these are the best gift ever and they both talk about the electric scooter ALL the time. When your children consistently and constantly talk about a gift, you know it's something they absolutely LOVE!

Both of these children are bold human beings and each has their own passions, so it's amazing that they both agree they love the scooters! Here is hoping that sibling rivalry doesn't create too much chaos with 1 electric scooter and 1 kick scooter!

Guardians= these scooters are as safe as they can be! C and A's momma informed me she felt both were perfectly safe navigating the scooters in their neighborhood. C struggles with balance issues and she realizes he does better with the electric scooter because the motor helps propel him forward. She thinks that the scooters are better and easier for him than bikes and hopes his balance will improve!

Make sure to grab the helmet before kids get on for extra safety- C and A always use helmets while out and about beyond their driveways, but for photo purposes, A's was not on this time!

Safety is Swag, so never fear with any Swagtron product! Word of caution: as with any product, it's probably NOT a good idea to use the electric scooter in rain. While Swagtron scooters are water resistant, can be ridden for short durations, and do have decent road grip; I still wouldn't chance taking one out, unless you are caught in it and need to get home. Definitely don't use your electric swagtron product in heavy rains, low visibility, or anything with ice!
