I'm always on the lookout for great date night ideas. Matt and I have been together since 1997 and our relationship has changed over the years. Sometimes taking the time to connect daily is back-burnered as we divide our focus between the kids, the house, work, etc. It's easy to let life's happenings distract us, but we are on the same page in the belief that it is important to make sure we plan time to focus on each other and our relationship. 

A MUCH younger Matt and Vanessa with all the time in the world for "date nights" and fun! Sorry for the grainy photo, but back then we used disposable cameras and film, not digital cameras and cell phones!

We appreciate moments of one-on-one time that allow us to (temporarily, of course) abandon any role aside from that of one another's sweetie and cause a great deal of laughter. Thanks to our friends at   Crated with Love, Matt and I are fixing to have just that type of date night this weekend!

I have a collection of holo stickers from when Matt and I were first dating. I absolutely love this one, but didn't love having to explain it to BOTH kids!

Fun little zippered pencil bag with gel pens- just perfect for all the note-taking, MASH playing, and Report Card filling out!

I'm not sure which activity I'm looking forward to most. MASH promises to be really fun and it reminds me of high school study hall with Matt taking the quizzes in my teenage girl magazines just to get a chuckle out of me and my friends. I'm also really excited to check out the Tamagotchi and I know I'm the one that's going to be rocking the "I Love the 90s" pin when I inevitably win.
