Adventure Awaits for Young Readers with Choose Your Own Adventure Books #MBPHoliday20

Thanks to ChooseCo for providing me with products to facilitate this post. All thoughts are my own.

Do you have little readers on your holiday gifting list this year? Whether your young readers are just starting out in their reading journeys, or they are avid readers already, kids will love getting in on the action of Choose Your Own Adventure books this holiday season! Giving books as gifts is one of those things I love to do for my own kids, as well as for other special kiddos in my life. While my kids love all sorts of books, they definitely love to ponder the 'what if' scenarios of the stories they're reading... and what better way to job their imaginations than to let them help choose what happens next in the story?

Chooseco is a purpose-built publishing house which brought the groundbreaking Choose Your Own Adventure gamebook series back to print in 2006. Since the series relaunch, Chooseco has sold over 15 million copies as well as expanded its list to include linear fiction with the YA trilogy Weregirl.

The originator and best-known gamebook in the world, the Choose Your Own Adventure series has been translated into 40 languages and has 265 million books in print worldwide.

B loves reading just about any book he can get his hands on- the Choose Your Own Adventure books are hard to put down!

My oldest is an above grade level reader, so being able to choose what happens next in the story is extra fun for him! He's been absolutely fascinated by the Titanic disaster, and has read multiple books about it. He knows the story in and out, but with Choose Your Own Adventure, he has the option to change parts of the story by determining what will happen next! Selecting alternate scenarios and endings keeps my A+ reader on the edge of his seat!

Since reading takes up a lot of B's time between required reading for school, and reading for pleasure, he seems to burn through books quickly. I chose three titles geared toward his age group from Choose Your Own Adventure's classics, such as Race Forever, Terror on the Titanic, and Smoke Jumpers.

All of the titles that I selected for B stemmed from an interest in cars, history, or current events. He has zoomed through all three of the books already, and have found them to be pretty entertaining. There is no gore, there are no death endings, and the books are mostly tame and very engaging. The best part? He's already going back and re-reading these books, choosing different endings than he did the first time, which completely changes the story. Talk about a win!

Beanie loves choosing what will happen next in the story!

For younger readers, the new collection of Board Books from Choose Your Own Adventure is a fantastic option! These books are spins on classic stories we loved as kids, which your littles are sure to enjoy! They still have the option to answer questions asked throughout the story- allowing them to choose their own adventure as you read to and with them! We absolutely loved reading Journey Under the Sea, as well as Space and Beyond!

Which Choose Your Own Adventure books are right for your little ones?

Classics for children aged 9-12, and Dragonlarks for readers aged 5-8. The Dragonlarks feature the same interactive format as the classics, but with larger font, full color art, and zany storylines (with no death endings, promise). New this year, just released board books  based on their first three classics!
