Thank you to our friends at Aunt Fannie's for sending me these products in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.
Recently I made the decision to try to incorporate more natural products into our home. Both Cory and I have noticed how hard it can be to breathe in our house after cleaning with such harsh chemicals and seeing as how I have Asthma, I knew I needed to do something about it. I've been struggling with finding good products that clean well or actually do what they claim they do. I've wasted so much money over the years on products that "claim" to be natural or good for you, only to find out they have hidden ingredients or chemicals that are very harmful and damaging to our bodies. Or, they just don't clean as well as they claim.
I tend to be a bit skeptical about trying new products, especially ones that claim to be "safe" or "natural," but after reading about Aunt Fannie's, I was very much intrigued by their products. Their products are free from harsh chemicals including, dyes, cleaning sulfates, phthalates, parabens, fake fragrances, mineral oil, gluten, bleach, known allergens, immunotoxins, ammonia, formaldehyde, phenols, MIT preservatives, BIT preservatives, pyrethrins, alcohol, petroleum propellants, neonicotinoids. What they do include are plant-based ingredients, essential oils, probiotics, vinegar, and more healthy ingredients. I'm a huge fan of cleaning with vinegar, it's something that I was taught to clean with when I cleaned homes and I'm so glad to see more companies utilizing it in their products. Aunt Fannie's was gracious enough to send me some of their most popular items to try out and I couldn't wait to give them a try.
Some of Aunt Fannie's Most Popular Items:
- All-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar, Eucalyptus-$6.99
- Microcosmic Probiotic Dish Soap, Lavender-$7.99
- Microcosmic Probiotic Hand Soap, Mint-$8.99
- Flypunch! Dive Jar-$7.99
- Mosquito Repellent Wipes, 10ct-$7.99
First up we have the 16.9oz All-Purpose Eucalyptus Cleaning Vinegar:
Which is made of Distilled White Vinegar, Sugar Surfactant, Triethyl Citrate, Juniperus Mexicanus Oil, Rosemary Oil, Lavender Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, and Lavandin Oil. It's safe to use on surfaces where you'll prepare or eat food. This is an all-purpose spray that you can use to clean pretty much anything, so I decided to put it to the test on my very old, beat-up kitchen sink. This sink is original to the house, it's from the '70s and it's seen better days. I clean it constantly and sanitize it each day, but nothing seems to get it clean, so I was very interested to see how well it would clean the sink. I sprayed down the sink and let it sit for about five minutes to work its magic. Now, I will say that this spray does have a strong vinegar smell, as it should, since that is the main ingredient, and has a mild Eucalyptus scent. I actually liked the scent, but it is strong!
After five minutes, I scrubbed my sink with a non-scratch pad, and was shocked to see how clean and shiny it was! It deep cleaned my sink so quickly that I wanted to clean more things around the house. I have a glass top stove, and it's a pain to keep clean as well, so why not give it a try? I sprayed down the stovetop, and knobs, let it sit again and then scrubbed with the same non-scratch pad, and let it sit for a little longer. I ended up wiping it off to show a very shiny and clean stovetop. Now, it didn't clean off the scorched spots, but it cleaned all the stuck-on gunk. I am so impressed with this cleaner, so much so, that it is now my go-to household cleaner. It cleans so easily, leaves no harsh smells or chemicals and it is safe to use around my dogs and doesn't trigger my asthma!
Microcosmic Probiotic Lavender Dish Soap and Soft Mint Hand Soap:
So next we have the 16oz, Microcosmic Probiotic Dish Soap, which is hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, created from items you'd find in the beauty aisle, has a ph that aligns with our bodies natural ph levels and has a gentle probiotic that keeps skin nice and happy. The ingredients for the Lavender Dish Soap are Water, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Lauryl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Methyl Oleoyl Taurate, Lactobacillus Ferment, Rosemary Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Peppermint Oil, Orange Peel Oil, Lavandin Oil, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Undecylenoyl Glycine, and Capryloyl Glycine. This soap smells heavenly and I was pleasantly surprised with how well it cleaned all of my dishes. I used to be a die-hard dawn fan, but after reading how bad the ingredients are, I stopped using it and really couldn't find anything that cleaned my stainless steel pots and pans nearly as well, that is until now! The Microcosmic Probiotic Dish Soap cuts through grease with ease, cleaning my taco pan within seconds! Usually, I have to soak my pans after cooking because they aren't non stick, but with the dish soap, I'm able to clean them without having to soak most of my dishes. If I do have to soak them, it's only for a few minutes and then I'm able to wash them clean with little to no scrubbing. A little goes a very long way, and when I'm washing up, it helps to mellow me out and leaves me feeling calm and relaxed. It's a great way to unwind, even when you're doing dishes!
Now, the Microcosmic Probiotic Soft Mint Hand Soap is made from Water, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Methyl Oleoyl Taurate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Lactobacillus Ferment, Peppermint Oil, Bergamot Oil, Lemon Peel Oil, Orange Peel Oil, Spearmint Oil, Sodium Chloride, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Undecylenoyl Glycine, Capryloyl Glycine, and Citric Acid. It was made with all the same thought and intention as the dish soap which is probably why I love it so much! I had run out of soap for my bathroom, so this couldn't have come at a better time for me to try! This soap, as odd as it sounds, really does feel soft when you use it. It's a very light formula that doesn't dry out your skin, leaves it soft and smells great! I love mint, it's probably one of my favorite scents and it's something that helps me to relieve some of my anxiety. This soap is made to help keep you well, which I really appreciate and it really makes hand washing fun! I'm so glad that I have this during the pandemic as I feel like I'm really getting my hands clean and promoting an overall well being for myself.
FLYPUNCH! Fruit Fly Trap:
The FLYPUNCH, Dive Jar is probably one of the greatest things ever created. This is made from Vinegar, Water, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Ethyl Lactate, and Malic Acid. We really struggle in the heat of the Summer with fruit flys and really just flies in general. We do have our home treated for pests every few months due to living in an area that has a high level of black widows, brown recluse, and wolf spiders. However, even with that, we still have issues with flies getting into the house or coming up from the sink. In the past, we would use those gross, sticky glue traps that get stuck to everything except the flies. So, when I saw this in the box, I immediately opened it and set it on my window sill. At the time of opening the FLYPUNCH, we had about five flies in our house and I was about to lose it! No kidding, within minutes it had already attracted one fly! The Flypunch has a lid that you can leave open or close it and I really toyed with leaving it closed overnight, but curiosity took over and I left the lid open as we slept. In the morning we had another fly in the punch, lol! After about three days, we had collected four full-grown flies, and a gnat. I was so excited to have found something that works and I don't have to use harsh chemicals or worry about an infestation. This is honestly something that I am planning on buying for everyone in my family. I think everyone should have several on these on hand because they work!
The Final Item Is The Mosquito Repellent Wipes:
This is a 10ct box of essential oil wipes made from Citronella Oil, Cedarwood Oil, Peppermint Oil, Lemongrass Oil, Geranium Oil, Isopropyl Myristate, Soybean Oil, Vitamin E, and Cellulose (regenerated.) These mosquito repellent wipes are a Godsend, seriously, because they are deet free, individually wrapped, and ready to pack in any bag or suitcase. These wipes are great for a day at the soccer field or beach, or an evening walk around the neighborhood. I'm convinced that the mosquitos in Oklahoma are from another planet. These things are huge and seem to swarm my yard and me on a daily basis, which being type O blood, I am like sugar to these monsters. I get eaten alive and have tried most brands of repellent which don't typically do much, or are way too harmful to use around my dogs. These wipes are easy to use and one wipe will cover your entire body. Don't use these wipes on your eyes, mouth or nose, but wipe over any other exposed skin. I use these mostly when I cut my grass, as it seems like I awaken the mosquito hoards and they attack with vengeance, leaving me covered in bites. The most bites I've gotten from cutting my grass are upwards of 35 and it was miserable. So when I use the mosquito repellent wipes, I'm able to cover all of my exposed skin with one wipe, and while I have still gotten one or two bites, they are nothing like they would normally be. They really don't well up or get itchy, I'll just have a small red spot that goes away by the next day. I've also used these as an anti-bite wipe after the fact. Sometimes I forget to use the wipe, so when I come inside, I grab a wipe and use it all over my skin and it really helps to keep the itch at bay and again, no welts or bumps, and no itchiness. These wipes should be on your Summer essential list if you're doing any type of outdoor activity.
I am so happy to have been introduced to Aunt Fannie's and I am overjoyed by all of the products that I was sent. Every product works as promised and I can't say enough good things about each of them. All of these items are great for the house and can make the transition from Summer to back to school a lot easier on busy families. Quickly spray down a lunch pail to clean, or have kids use the soft mint soap when they get home from school to wash their hands. Aunt Fannie's offers a wide array of products from mosquito wipes and soaps to glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, carpet refreshers and so much more. There's something for everyone at prices that are affordable, making the switch from harsh chemicals to safe, eco-friendly products that much easier.
