Hallelujah, It's Almost Fall!

Okay, Okay, I know I sound like a basic white girl right now, but you guys, Fall is only a few short weeks away! I don't know about anyone else, but I am so ready for it! I feel like Summer has lasted 87 months and I really need a change of scenery! Now, I'm not you're average white girl in the fall, because I don't like pumpkin spice and I'm not that crazy about all things sweaters. What I do love is when the sky becomes gray and the leaves and temperatures begin to change. The air becomes crisp and has this almost tranquil feel to it that I find it to be very calming. I do love to be outside during Fall and there are so many outdoor activities to do in the fall. However, this year's activities might be a bit different or even canceled altogether, but that won't stop me from enjoying this season.

One of my favorite things to do during this season is going to the Tulsa State Fair, and while I am sad to say that it has been canceled this year for obvious reasons, we're still planning on having our own mini fair at home!  We plan to make corn dogs, caramel apples, attempt to make fried pickles, and come up with our own ridiculous versions of fair food-at home. While we may fail miserably at this, it will still be something fun that we will remember for a long time to come. And I mean, come on, the food is the only reason to go to the fair, right?

We also enjoy bundling up and driving around different parts of our town that we have never explored. We really enjoy taking a long drive and sitting together over-looking a river or lake. Fall is such a great time to do this, especially in Oklahoma because it usually is still pretty warm during the day and cool in the evenings and mornings. Grab a blanket and a hoodie, head out to a local park and have a picnic. Or drive to a nearby town and find a good spot to have a picnic there. There's so much to do within a short drive of where you live, you just have to be willing to explore your town!

I also want to start taking both of our dogs to the local nature trails and walk them. What better time to start this with them, than Fall? The weather will still be warm enough that I don't have to worry about bundling both of them up before we head out, and the pavement should be cool enough to not burn their feet. While I normally enjoy taking Diesel for a walk, unfortunately, Luna has only been for 1 walk since we got her. This was for numerous reasons, but the main one being that I broke my foot and she is a very strong dog and I had not felt strong enough to walk her until recently. However, it has been 90-100+ degrees for several months and that is way too hot to walk a dog. Now that it is getting cooler overnight, we'll be able to head to the park or trails and enjoy the scenery and weather together!

There's so much more to do and look forward to this upcoming Fall season, so I hope you'll stick around to see what all we get into and have planned. Let us know in the comments below what type of plans you have this Fall. Are you sticking to what you would normally do, or have you changed your plans to account for our current climate?

Happy Almost Fall, Y'all!
