Weekends with the Wigglesworths-Mini Home and Mood Improvement Projects

Happy Saturday, friends! This past week has been another opportunity for me to work on some "me"  things as well as smaller projects around the house. R started summer school and D has been content keeping to herself most of the day (ahh, 12-year olds). Because of that, I have some free time to myself, and while I should be spending some time reading books and finally reaching my goal, I keep coming up with different things I want to do and my focus shifts.

The biggest thing I have been focused on this week has been getting rid of things we don't use or need. I'm self-diagnosing myself as a borderline hoarder. Definitely not as bad as the people you see on that show, but I can tell that the tendency runs in my family (both Grandmothers have held onto things that they were no longer needed or being used).  My biggest issue is the guilt I have toward parting with things that were given to us by people we love. I've literally had to talk myself down after bringing items to the donation center, reminding myself that they were no longer being used by us and could bring great joy to someone else that could actually make use of it.

Working on getting rid of things that clutter up the house has also helped improve my mood. I know I've heard it said that when a room (or house) is cluttered, it overwhelms your brain and can put you in a bad mood. It seems that is true, at least for me. We are so fortunate to be able to have so much, and I am appreciative of how blessed we are, but I'm realizing more and more that holding onto things after they have served their purpose in your life can prevent further blessings-not only my own, but those of the people who are praying for the very things we are just holding onto "just in case".

Have you been working on any home or mood improvement projects? I'd love to hear from you, so go on and sound off in the comments and be sure to catch up with us on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram!

Have a spectacular Saturday 🤗
