I will be the first to admit that I am a novice artist. Hendrix is getting older and wanting me to draw more, but my drawings are not always as accurate as I would like them to be. Of course, I encourage creativity and art at home so finding The Grown-Up's Guide to Making Art with Kids helped us both. We can both follow along and grow our skills together. 

Some of these days can be long so I try to have numerous optional activities for us from which to choose. Since Hendrix started preschool, I have noticed him being more creative and wanting to draw or paint more often. Now that he is home and will not have that guided instruction, I am doing my best to continue at home. I believe doodling and drawing allow him to express lots of creativity and to build confidence. 

I was so excited to try to draw from The Grown-Up's Guide to Making Art with Kids because I'm such a novice artist. 

Not bad for my first attempt using sidewalk chalk in the driveway! Hendrix is loving watching me and helping me draw cars, other animals, and people. It is definitely something I'm loving right now.
