Easy Ice Cream Cake the Kids Can Make - Just Like Aiden Did!

Aiden signed up to bring an ice cream cake to his class at school.  I had never, ever made an ice cream cake, but he said he had to bring that because he had already told his friends about it.  Now where he got the idea for this, I don't know.  But he was determined!
So, I headed over to Pinterest and found an easy recipe that Aiden could even do without much of my help.  We went to the store and got our supplies....ice cream sandwiches, cool whip, chocolate syrup and oreo cookies.

This is one layer of ice cream sandwiches and a layer of cool whip.

A 2nd layer of ice cream sandwiches.

This ice cream cake turned out amazing.  Aiden did most of the work on this cake and he was very proud to take it to school to serve to his friends.  He brought me the empty dish at the end of the day and said that it was a big hit.  I ran into several of his friends in the hall and they told me how yummy the ice cream cake was.

Ice Cream Cake

2 boxes of ice cream sandwiches (you probably won't use them all.  It depends on the size of your dish)
2 tubs of cool whip
Chocolate syrup
Oreo cookies (crushed)

Layer the bottom of your dish with ice cream sandwiches.  Cover with cool whip.  Add a 2nd layer of ice cream sandwiches and cover with cool whip.  Drizzle chocolate syrup over the cool whip and then add crushed oreos.  Keep in the freezer and enjoy!

This was such a popular dessert that Aiden has already signed up to bring it to his classes Friendsgiving meal.  I hope you guys will give this a try.  Let me know how it goes.

Enjoy!
