A few years ago when chalkboard art and prints became popular, I was instantly hooked. I loved the rustic look and feel they offered up and quickly found myself ordering chalkboard poster prints for parties and special events. While I love and appreciate the creativity shared by the artists and designers, it can become expensive to continuously spend money on these types of prints. I'm no artist, but I do love hand lettering (I'm just not very good at it- yet). I got to thinking that it might be easier and more convenient to own a chalkboard that I could use anytime I wanted- in my home, at parties, etc.

The rustic kickstand chalkboard was the perfect way for me to create a sign for my daughter's birthday party. We used it in the 'dress up' area and displayed, 'Let's get fancy!' on the board.

I have a chalkboard decal in my kitchen and use it as a main family calendar. The markers that I bought to use with it (years ago) were incredibly difficult to use. I never felt that they allowed me to write smoothly or that the liquid chalk flowed evenly when I wrote with them. They were also impossible to remove! I still have residue and can see chalk marker outlines from the very first time I used those markers! As you can imagine, that made me pretty upset.
I've had an amazing experience with the VersaChalk chalk markers. They are so easy to use with just a simple shake, push on the tip to get the liquid flowing, and they write smoothly, beautifully, and evenly.
I'm no artist, but I enjoyed being able to quickly make a chalk sign to place on our sideboard at home.
My biggest downfall when it comes to chalk art is slanted writing. It's something I hope to work on and improve over time. VersaChalk has lots of different chalk markers in various color sets, and various marker sizes. I prefer the fine tipped markers for detail and precision when writing.
