Weekends with the Wigglesworths- Happy 7th Birthday R!

Happy Saturday, friends! Today R turned 7 and we plan on celebrating big time! Well, we hope that we will be able to celebrate big time. We had a pretty sad situation the other day, and it has carried on into today and may carry into the next few weeks.

On Thursday, little Miss. R took a tumble on the playground and ended up fracturing her humerus. Thankfully, the pain has not been too bad, although it seems to get worse for her at night when she is trying to sleep. We have already scheduled her follow-up appointment, but unfortunately, they couldn't get us in until Monday morning. For now, we are just trying to keep her as comfortable as possible until we figure out the next steps. Although it's a little upsetting that this happened right before her birthday and spring break, I'm relieved that I'll have the time off to tend to her and she'll have the time off to relax and heal. If you wouldn't mind saying a little prayer for this injury to be minor and quick healing, we'd appreciate it!

On the bright side, R's been in really great spirits and we're hoping that we can get her out and about today to celebrate her special day. D has been a really great help, tending to her sister and just doting on her. She's a great big sister, all of the time, but the last few days she has just gone above and beyond.  D decided to make her sister's gift a little extra special this year, so she is almost as excited as R is for her birthday.

The girls are kind of obsessed with mystery boxes and D had been talking for a few weeks about putting one together for R's birthday. I think she did a great job. She decorated the sides with printed images of a unicorn cake and floral question marks. The top flaps were wrapped with purple and pink wrapping paper and an extra floral question mark for "good luck" (because they printed 4 to a page and we only needed the 7) I helped her a little with the wrapping and packing, but overall this was a D production. She's pretty creative.

There are 7 gifts inside the box (one for each year) and each gift is wrapped. R has already seen the box and is super anxious to find out what's inside. I know she's going to love it! I'm hoping to make an unboxing video, but we'll have to see how things go.

I hope you all have a great weekend and a great week ahead!
