How do you keep the kids entertained over the holiday break from school? Summer break was pretty rough on me and the kids. I refused to spend upwards of $1000.00 on a community pool membership, and unended travels just weren't in our budget. The holiday break from school lasts about three weeks for our kids, who get an extra few days off thanks to our annual family vacation after Christmas. So, that leaves three weeks to fill with as much screen-free entertainment as possible. What's a mom and/or dad to do?

Both of my kids love to play games and I thank the high heavens, they've actually started to enjoy playing together! There's a bit of an age difference between them, but it's actually nice having B be a bit older, because he loves to teach his little sis how to do things, like play games, read, etc. It's actually really beautiful and amazing to witness as a parent. Back to keeping them entertained, though, we tend to steer away from devices and movies, shows, etc, when we want to keep them occupied. Mom and dad don't always have the luxury of giving both kids our undivided attention, so we're always on the lookout for cool games that they can explore together!
