One of our favorite holiday traditions that we enjoy as a family is counting down to Christmas with a special Advent calendar. Each year, we either buy or make our own Advent calendar. Usually, your family's Advent calendar might be a large rectangular calendar with 25 little doors on it. Each day, your open a new door to find a little surprise in the days leading up to Christmas. This year, the kiddos and I got crafty and made our own version of an Advent calendar, featuring one of our favorite snacks!

Make an Advent Calendar with Welch's Fruit Snacks!


To make a cute DIY Advent Calendar, we used:
25 Mini Stockings (Oriental Trading Co)
Craft Poms
Craft Jewels
Glitter Paint Pens
Stickers
Ribbon

Let Your Kids Get Creative!


To make the Advent Calendar, have the kiddos decorate 25 of the mini stockings. We used all sorts of craft items, and had no particular rhyme or reason to how we decorated the stockings. We used all sizes of craft pom poms, stickers, jewels, and paint! The kids got pretty creative and made some awesome looking stockings!


Once the stockings are all finished (make sure they dry completely if you use glue or paint), string them together to make a garland or do what we did and tie each one to the Christmas tree. Your kids will love finding the right number to match each day of December to find their treats.


These stockings turned out to be the kids' favorites!


Fill them with goodness!

 B loved finding his favorite fruit snacks in his mini stocking on the hanging Advent calendar, and so did his little sister!

My kids love Welch's Fruit Snacks, and so do I! In fact, I keep them on hand in our pantry year round. My mom even buys these to keep for the kids at her house, and keeps some in her purse for them, too! Sure, you could fill those little mini stockings with junk, but why would you want to do that when you can give your kids wholesome snacks, instead? The 5-pouch boxes make perfect stocking stuffers for big stockings, too!
