Every year, my family enjoys a bit of R & R after Christmas. It usually begins with a little reunion, my sister and brother-in-law joining us in NC from OK for a few days of family time at my mom and dad's house. From there, we usually all vacation together, staying someplace that feels very much like home with lots of room for the kids to play, and for us to enjoy good food, fun, and games. My husband and I both grew up with 'family game night' being a weekly occurrence, and it's a tradition that we've worked hard to continue with our kids.

When the whole family gets together, we love to gather around the table and play games. It's a great way to pass the time, exercise our minds, and a great way for the generations (parents, grandparents and young kids) to bond. We look for unique games to share as gifts every holiday season- gifts that are perfect for our kids (ages 2, and 8), but also games that can be enjoyed by older kids and adults... a little something for everyone.

My top pick from Goliath for Toddlers and Preschoolers this year is the Paint-Station. Little Bean loves to paint- her teachers have even made a point of telling me how much she loves to paint at school. They're 5 1/2 years apart in age, so I figured that they wouldn't have a whole lot of interest in playing together, but I couldn't have been more wrong about that. My sister and I have always loved pop culture and trivia. Last Christmas, we played a fun pop trivia game through an app on her phone, which required the person guessing the answers to place their phone on their forehead. There's got to be a better way to play, right? Well, Fantastic Pop Trivia is it! It's a super fun game for the whole family!
