Top 10 Tips for Stress Management

Possibly the most stressful month of my life is upon me, dear friends. I (along with my mother, oldest brother, and fiance) depart on Thursday to Florida to attend my middle brother's wedding. I am also 30 days out from my own big day. Add into the mix that a family friend is getting married the weekend before our wedding and you have a big, messy, stressful wedding trifecta!

These three wedding days are sure to be beautiful and perfect but that's not without a hefty amount of stress. I'm here today to share with you how I'm managing this stress in my life and how you can manage stress in your life too!

Get a pedicure (or do one at home!)
I may or may not be getting my toes done as I type this on my phone... There's nothing like having someone else pamper you to take away the stress!

Read a book
Yes, this is my solution to all of life's problems, but seriously - Take some time to escape into someone else's problems for a little while!

Do a 20-minute yoga practice using YouTube
Yoga with Adriene is my favorite! She is the perfect online yoga instructor for all yogis - whether you're an old pro or brand new to the practice.

Color in a coloring book
The ultimate de-stressor! You can find adult coloring books at hobby stores. Pick up a pack of colored pencils or markers and lose yourself in a mandala.

Find clarity in technology
Most devices are just stressful. All that ‘buzzing’ and ‘ringing’! The Hapbee band focuses on giving you power over your mood throughout the day, no matter what you’re doing. An ideal partner for motivated mornings or an evening spent unwinding

Make a list of all the things you need to do and focus on one thing at a time
This really helps me to compartmentalize my stress and really see everything that's stressing me out all in one place outside of my brain.

Take a bubble bath
One of the best things I ever did was invest in a bath shelf. It holds my wine, my book, and my phone, and I can disappear into a tub full of bubbles.

Take a five minute time out to take deep breaths
Use this time to meditate and just get away for a moment. Many people enjoy taking some time out to themselves to try and minimize stress, which can also be helped by using CBD products from websites like goldbee.com. CBD is known for its ability to suppress symptoms of stress and anxiety, so this can be consumed in your 5 minute time out to really relax you.

Listen to white noise
This really helps me combat anxiety. You can use apps on your phone and there are even features on devices like Google Home and Amazon Alexa. I personally could listen to a thunderstorm for hours on end.

Write in a diary or journal
Similar to making a list, this will help you vent all of your frustrations and come out the other side a better, more relaxed human.

If none of the above options work, you may want to consider online counseling with BetterHelp.

Whatever is stressing you out, know that your stress has an expiration date - Mine happens to be October 13th and a flight to Aruba. ;) These tools will help you cope in the meantime! Tell me - What do you do to help you when you're feeling stressed?
