Just Eat the Dang Cupcake!

Look, sometimes you just need to eat the dang cupcake. It's not good for you. It won't lower your cholesterol or stabilize your sugar. It tastes the way that it tastes because it's meant to be a treat. It's not meant to be eaten every single day, twice a day.

When I tell you to eat the cupcake, what I'm really saying is "carpe diem" or "seize the day".
I like to have a routine and I know my children thrive when they have a general understanding of how the day is going to go. However, the most magical moments I have experienced as a mom are the ones that caused us to veer off the path.

During one of our last days of summer vacation, just before my two littles would begin 1st and 2nd grade, I made the announcement that we were heading out of the house!
"Where are we going, mama?!"
"Why!?"
"Are we going to Walmart?!" (Really?)
"Yay yay yay, let's go!"

I whisked them into the truck and drove into town. All along the way, they were shouting out guesses as to where in the world I may be taking them. I kept my lips sealed!

As we neared their favorite little bakery, they both began to squeal with excitement. It clicked.
"Are we going to Abigail's?!"
"Yay!"

My little guys ordered their favorite cupcakes: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Cookies and Cream. Pictured is the cookie dough cupcake! It's absolutely incredible. It's decadent. It is not meant to be eaten every single day, but it is meant to be enjoyed every now and then with a couple of little kids in your life that will take the memory with them long after the last of the icing is licked off tiny fingers.

Eat the dang cupcake. Make the memory. You'll never regret it.

Blessings,
