Sweatin' Like A Yogi: Shandali Yoga Towels + Giveaway

Special Thanks to Shandali for providing me with their awesome yoga towels for review! All opinions are 100% my own. This post may contain affiliate links.

As you may know, I have recently started taking yoga at a local studio to help bring some balance and centering into my hectic life with three little ones at home. I'm also trying to tone up this post baby bod of mine and rebuild some core strength. One of the first things I noticed about myself from taking a yoga class is that I sure do sweat a lot...so much so that my mat gets slippery and my down dog suffers.
I can't have a half baked down dog! I desperately needed a solution and started looking around online for a yoga towel after I had noticed that several of my more experienced yoga peers had one. I found Shandali! I started reading about their products and company and I learned that their passion for yoga inspired them to create better products to enrich the everyday yogi's practice. That's me - just your typical, everyday yogi... So, Adam at Shandali sent me two awesome yoga towels to try out. I received them just in time for my weekly yoga class - sweet!

Adam told me that he would be sending one StickyFiber Hot Yoga Towel and one Microfiber GoSweat Hot Yoga Towel to try out. He explained that the GoSweat towel was for high sweat situations - for the overachiever sweater, if you will. The microfiber material actually "activates" when wet (from sweat, ew) and becomes really grippy on top of your mat. If you are a more moderate sweater...you might prefer the StickyFiber towel which has silicone fibers sewn into the towel and creates a solid, yet comfy, foundation for your yoga practice

At the studio, I thought to myself, "I will try the StickyFiber towel since I can't be THAT sweaty..." (hint: I could have used the GoSweat towel no prob. But the StickyFiber did great also...read on).

I rolled out the StickyFiber towel onto my mat and got into my super-serious-yoga-class-getting-ready-meditative-criss-cross-applesauce-pose. From there, it got real sweaty, real fast. But to my absolute delight, I did not slip once! My down dog has never been better. And I could actually "melt into the pose" without fear of falling like my yoga instructor Erna always so lovingly encourages us to do! The Shandali Yoga Towel improved my yoga experience - hands down.

Shandali also promotes the idea that you can lighten your load by using a yoga towel. You can hypothetically just bring your towel to the studio and use a studio mat instead of lugging your own mat around with you. It's all about making life easier! I love that. I'm heading to two yoga classes this upcoming weekend and I can't wait to try out my GoSweat Microfiber Yoga Towel! It is soooo soft.
Shandali's name comes from a combo of two words: Shanti, which means "peace, rest, calmness, tranquility & bliss -and- Mandali, which is from the Sanskrit mandala, meaning circle, connection, community. And they mean it! They are focused on bringing people a healthier, more balanced, more peaceful lifestyle that changes our connections and community for the better. We could all use a little more balance and peace these days.

Me and my little man after my yoga class - he was happy to see me 😍

  4. I've never tried yoga though from what I can tell, it's not much different from the martial arts stretching I did years ago. Have been thinking about getting into it.
