Want to make a cake in a jiffy? Forget about the traditional method of mixing and turning on the oven to bake it. The other night, my son was begging me to make a cake for dessert. We were so short on time and had about an hour before bedtime. There wasn't time to bake a whole cake, so I told him that we could make a quick cake in a mug and bake it in the microwave. He and my hubby were both skeptical as to whether or not it would actually work. To their surprise, it did, and the result was pure deliciousness!

Quick Vanilla Cake Batter for Mug Cake

You'll need just 7 ingredients...

5 Tbsp Flour

1/4 tsp Baking Powder

2 Tbsp Sugar

1/4 Cup Milk

1 Egg

2 tsp Vanilla

2 Tbsp Melted Butter

To make the cake...

Whisk the dry ingredients together in a mug ( a large mug works best).

Use a measuring cup to mix together the wet ingredients. Then, pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture in the mug and stir until batter is smooth.

Microwave for 60 seconds.

We couldn't believe how fluffy and delicious the cake turned out! It was so easy to make and after I had made one for my son, my husband was begging me to make him one, too! We added a scoop pf ice cream to the top of the warm cake, and it makes the perfect single serving for dessert! We can't wait to make it again!
