I have been listening to Christian music my entire life. Growing up as a daughter of a Minister of Music, I've always sort of been in the know when it comes to the latest praise and worship music. I developed a love for worship music as a young girl, and remember listening to praise tapes with my grandmother in her red station wagon. Through the years, Chrisitan music has changed and crossed over into many other genres. The message remain the same, and new artists have emerged.
Within the past five or so years, I have really become a big fan of Jesus Culture's music. Kim Walker-Smith is the powerful female lead voice behind many of their hit worship songs like 'Holy, 'Rooftops,' etc. Kim has released several solo albums through the years, and her latest comes to us in a time where we as Christians are looking to the skies for signs of hope and promise.
This album is an incredibly powerful album, where Kim bares her heart and soul. Her voice is amazing- the best I have ever heard it. She is by far one of my top three favorite worship leaders, and I love the way her heart and love for God just comes through her music. Kim has sort of paved the way for prophetic worship, which invites others to really connect with God in moments of worship.
You Are On My Side, Lyric Video...
I absolutely love the title track, You Are On My Side. It reminds us that God goes before us, stands behind us, shields us from our enemies, and loves us, always.
This album is on repeat in my car... I can't stop listening to it. Out of all of the worship artists that my husband and I enjoy listening to, there is just something about Kim's spirit and her incredible voice that stirrs within our souls. My husband remarked, 'You know what it is about her... I believe her. When she sings, I believe her and believe in what she is saying through her music.' She's completely genuine, and her love for God is so beautiful. She inspires me to have a fruitful and intimate worship life.

I had never heard of Kim Walker-Smith before reading this post. But I went over to Amazon and listened to the snippets of every track on the "On My Side" album a few times, and some of my favorites are:

I haven't heard of her before, so I will choose the On My Side as she has to like it the best seeing as that is the title of the album!
