This Christmas, I really wanted to give my husband and son a special father/son gift that they could enjoy together. I love surprising them! Their interests are similar, and one thing that they both really love is Star Wars. There's so much excitement around Rogue One coming out, that my boys can hardly wait! Last year, we had a full on Star Wars Christmas, and I am pleased that it will be making an appearance this Christmas, as well.

This cool set of battle drones comes with an X -Wing and Tie Fighter drone and remote controls. This set is made by SpinMaster and is perfect for kids of all ages, 8+. I can't wait to see my boys spend some time together, and watching them get out to play with these drones! My only hope is that they hold up to the imminent crashes!

The Battling X-Wing And Tie Fighter Drones.
These are the remote-controlled classic space fighters from Star Wars that battle against each other in a contest of galactic supremacy. Guided by easy-to-control remotes, each fighter takes off from a standing position, powered by four rotors that provide left, right, up, down, and left/right lateral drifting movement for achieving a hovering firing position. A button on each remote fires an infrared “laser” from the front of each spacecraft in an attempt to wing an opponent, accompanied by movie-authentic X-Wing and Tie Fighter laser cannon pulse sounds. A direct hit “wobbles” an opponent in mid-air and causes its remote’s display to flash—three hits shoots down the opponent, which causes it to land gently. Spin and drift trim levers on each remote fine-tune flight performance. Each fighter’s rechargeable battery provides 15-minute space duels from a 45-minute charge via the controller (or via a computer using the two included USB cables). Requires 12 AA batteries. Ages 8 and up. (2 3/4 lbs.)
