When it comes to giving gifts to my kids, be it for the holidays or other special occasions, I like to look for unique gifts. There are so many cookie cutter toys and games out there, and after a while, they all start to look exactly the same. I like for my children's toys to stand out, so that they are intrigued by them, and want to keep going back and playing with them time and time again. After all, nothing is sadder than a poor toy sitting on the shelf that hasn't been played with in ages.

Storybook Castle Activity Center
This season, we received the Storybook Castle activity center from Manhattan Toy. This is such a beautiful toy, and I could hardly wait to see it, and get it set up. The toy arrived in a lovely box, which had the picture of the product on it.

The Storybook Castle arrived in pieces, but it was a fairly quick and painless set up for my husband. I usually ask him to put larger toys together, but I could have put this one together, myself in no time, flat.
Now, I just want to mention that this toy is intended for ages 12 mo+. Baby S is only 8 months old, so she merely glanced at the toy, while we checked it out. We're saving this to give to her in just a few short months, for her birthday.

The toy is just beautiful. My husband and I love all things knights, so this is right up our alley. The wooden activity toy stands up on the round base, and is sectioned off into four different parts. Each area of the activity toy center has different things to play with. There are wooden pieces to grab a hold of and push or slide. There are also beads to slide down winding wires, characters to spin, and more!
We can't wait until S is a little bigger and can reach the toy better and play with it!
So much to see and explore!
The activity toy is cut out like a castle, so you can play with knights and dragons, or kings and queens! There are tons of bright, colorful and fun activities to keep little ones busy for hours at a time! There are so many things to twist, push, pull, move, and explore! S wanted to play with this so badly. I was able to hold the toy steady for her while she moved some of the little beads, and pushed some of the castle characters. I love the little alligator attached to the base, and S did, too!
Four quadrants of castle-themed activities features gliders, gears, bead runs, snapping crocodile and more to support motor development.

We absolutely love the storybook castle toy, and I wish that we could have had something like this for B when he was a little guy. Big brother thinks this is pretty cool, and I have a feeling that he'll be playing with his sister when she's old enough to play with this, too! It's perfect for just one child, or for siblings and friends to play with together!
