We're about halfway through October, and the holidays are coming fast. This year I made two promises to myself; don't wait until December 24th go Christmas shopping, and don't bombard my loved ones with more toys! Over the past year I have become more minimalistic and it has really changed the way I shop. Most importantly, I choose quality over quantity and that is almost impossible when you wait until the last minute. Also in the spirit of minimalism, I want to cut down on the amount of toys I give this year. Don't get me wrong, toys are great! I have just noticed that the amount kids get for holidays can be overwhelming. The trick is finding gifts that are still fun and functional!

 I was thrilled when Brinware reached out to have us review their products. I hate cleaning plastic dishes and containers, so my girls have always used our everyday dishes. Unfortunately, this has caused a few of my pieces to break. I had been looking for a more durable alternative, but didn't want to compromise on style or quality. Brinware seemed to be a perfect fit!

My older daughter N was with me when our Brinware package arrived. She loves getting packages, so we opened it together. We received a multi-purpose container and a set of plates in the garden party design. The set came with two plates and two silicon sleeves (one pink and one purple). We both love that each plate featured a different picture- both equally cute! I let her choose her favorite dish and sleeve. She was excited to have a special plate to call her own!

I'm really impressed by the strength of the tempered glass! My 18 month old daughter likes to walk around our apartment with hers and has dropped it a number of times. The plates show no sign of wear after three weeks of heavy use by two tough toddlers. Since the silicon sleeves add an extra layer of protection, I'm sure they will be loved for many years.

I have been getting a lot of use out of the container. It uses the same durable glass covered in silicon with a silicon lid. It holds up to 2 1/4 cups, which I have found to be a great amount for my lunch. I usually will package some leftovers in it the night before, then pop it in the microwave when I'm ready to eat. The silicon lining makes a great barrier so I don't burn my hands taking it out, and you don't need to worry about placing it on a trivet.

It's also great for one of my favorite snacks- chips and salsa. I like to pour some salsa out of the jar into the Brinware multi-purpose container, any leftovers stay in the container for later. Since it's made of glass, there's no need to worry about it getting stained. I have not had any issues with the container leaking, even after turning it upside down and shaking. I hope they come out with more sizes soon!
