Thank you to See Kai Run for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.
Believe it or not, we're counting down the days until school's out for summer. I am already dreaming of lazy days spent lounging in the backyard by the kiddie pool, and a few summertime trips with the family. B has just one month left of preschool, and then we'll be getting him ready to attend kindergarten in the fall. Even though we have a brand new baby at home, we plan to stay pretty busy and active during the summer. It would be all too easy to stay inside, nursing the baby in the cool A/C- but my little guy needs an active lifestyle to stay fit and to keep him from being bored.
If we're going to be on the go a lot, we have to have great shoes we can rely on during our trips, travels and everyday adventures.Making sure that B has safe, comfortable shoes for the summertime hasn't been easy in the past. He has big, wide feet from top to bottom, and not just any shoe will do. B is five years old, and is starting to become particular about the styles he wears, as well. Lucky for us, See Kai Run has fantastic shoes in great styles for kids of all ages!
In 2004, a Seattle mom was on a quest to find a shoe that was best in health and design for her son’s feet. She was looking for fun, sophisticated styles that also promoted healthy foot development; but she didn’t find any, so she created See Kai Run. Today, a dedicated team of footwear makers and designers carry on this mission. Our experience and footwear knowledge ensures that every style we produce is fun, fashionable and features the finest in materials and craftsmanship.
I spent a lot of time looking at different shoe styles available from See Kai Run. I knew that something practical for summertime would be best. See Kai Run has so many wonderful shoe styles for kids, and there were plenty to choose from that I knew my picky son would love, no matter what!
Check out the style I chose for B- The Kenai Washable Runners in Gray.
There are many reasons why I love these boys shoes. First of all, they are super stylish and look oh, so comfortable. I don't allow B to wear flip-flops on shoes without a backing around the ankle. He's a pretty rough and tumble sort of kid, and he needs good support and protection for his feet when playing and when doing his everyday stuff. The color combo of these shoes was a winner for me, and wound up being a hit with B, too.
These shoes aren't afraid to get a little bit wet.
The Washable Runners are perfect for water play. We have a little fenced in yard, and we love to play out in it during the spring and summertime, but our driveway is gravel. I don't like for B to walk out across the gravel with bare feet- the gravel can hurt, and there's a bunch of dirt underneath. Wet feet and gravel/dirt don't mix! The Washable Runners are made to handle the tough outdoor elements and the water. They're 100% washable, and are super tough.
The footbed of the Washable Runners provide a slip-resistant grip. No slipping and sliding in and out of these!
The Kenai Washable Runners are totally adjustable to your child's personal comfort/fit. There are Velcro straps aross the heel, and across the top of the shoe to ensure that you can get just the right fit for your child. B was able to get the shoes on and adjust them all by himself, which he was very proud of.
Plenty of tread on these cool kicks!
I love that there is a good amount of tread on the bottom of these shoes. I don't want to have to worry about B slipping and falling. We plan to travel a lot during the summertime- we have a trip to the mountains in the works, and will probably hit the beach for week, and may even take a trip up to NJ/NYC to visit family. This is a versatile style for kids on the go. When we're in the mountains, B could easily wear these in a creek or stream to splash around in, and I won't have to worry about him slipping. He can also wear them on the beach, and can wear them to the pool, or out to the park to play in when we are in NJ, or for everyday summer fun!
The Washable Runners are ideal for spring and summer!
This big kid totally loves hiw new Washable Runners from See Kai Run.
B isn't allowed to wear shoes like this to school, so he was totally bummed out that he couldn't wear them to school and show them off to his friends. We're loving them at home, though- they are perfect to quickly slip on to head outside to run/play in. B has worn these out in the yard, and loves wearing them when he is helping me water the flowers and plants. Best of all, I don't mind if they get wet, and if they happen to get dirty, they can be washed!
A perfect fit!
B initially wore these with pants, because it was cool when we received the shoes. It's warmed up quite a bit of late, though, and with temperatures in the 80's they are perfect to wear with shorts for a casual look.
