Dreaming of Summer #daytrips

Aiden and I like to make the most of our summers. We are on the go a lot and have a lot of fun.I know it's still a little early but I am already thinking ahead to what we can do this summer. I came across a list of fun places in NC to take your children and after reading it, I realized that we had been to a lot of the places listed. These are some of our favorites. If you live in NC, I hope you have or will give them a try.

Carowinds

Visit the Carowinds website to learn about all the fun to be had there. We have season passes and spend days during the summer here.

Tweetsie Railroad

We have been to Tweetsie twice and have really enjoyed it. When we go, we usually spend a couple of nights because there is so much to do in the area. Check out Tweetsie and head there for a visit.

Here are some other places we visit while we are in the Tweetsie area:

Chimney Rock

This one scares me but it's amazing once you get up there! Chimney Rock is a must see and do.

Grandfather Mountain and the Swinging Bridge

Another scary on for me, but Aiden loves it!! He went across this bridge when he was 2 years old with his Daddy and I stayed on the other side. I have never actually crossed the bridge because I just can't do it!! Head over and check them out on their website.

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

There is so much to do in this area. We spent a couple of days exploring here. You will love it. Check out their website to see what all there is to do. We did get stranded because it rained really hard and we were out and about and the road to our Bed and Breakfast which was near the lighthouse flooded. That was an experience. We had to spend the night back in Kill Devil Hill in a hotel.

Ocracoke Island

Aiden loved pirates and was super excited to visit Blackbeard's favorite Island. Ocracoke has many fun things to do. We rode the ferry over from Hatteras and spent the day there.
