S loves clothes, we all do right? Her closet is full of shirts, tunics, sweaters, skirts, and her favorite-dresses. I love watching her come into her own style and see what she chooses each day (when she isn't wearing her school uniform). Her personality is definitely becoming more evident in her clothing and accessory choices and I look forward to watching it for years to come.
As she has gotten older, the clothing choices in stores can become a little scary. In some stores, size 6 offers things that are too mature, things I am not ready for her to be even thinking about. I prefer more modest options that are comfortable, cute, and still trendy while also being affordable.
Founded in March of 2009, Nohi Kids is celebrating their love of kids and design together, in creating comfortable, high quality, eco-friendly clothing for kids. Nohi means "to be small" in the Maori language, in Japan, Kodomo Nohi is a popular holiday to celebrate children, and in Hawaiian, Nohi means "brightly colored and vivid", so Nohi Kids is centered on kids and all their brightness.
Nohi Kids focuses on using certified organic cotton, bamboo viscose, and a touch of spandex for soft, modern, durable, and vibrant clothing for newborn through age 8. All of their fabrics are certified, tested, preshrunk, and ready to wear and wash (in both washer and dryer). They use low-impact, water based inks for printing and ensure that all of their products are lead-free as well.
Nohi Kids also maintains a very personal relationship with their manufacturer and work with them because of their integrity and meticulous attention to detail, while also being accountable for ensuring workplace safety, fair working hours and decent wages, no discrimination and no child labor. Nohi Kids also want to help improve the lives of children and donates a portion of their profits to charities. They also participate in events that promote health and well being of children. We were lucky enough to get a change to work with and feature Nohi Kids in our Holiday Guide. After speaking with Nohi Kids, I sent off S's gender, size, and address so we could see what amazing item they might send us.
Our Nohi Kids package has arrived!

A look at all of our new goodies
The sweet tag on all of the clothes. It is very simple yet inviting. I love that their motto is "Celebrating Small", makes perfect sense to me, I love kids!
S wasted no time getting her new clothing out and on, she was so happy with all that Nohi Kids had sent her.
First, we were sent the Penny Dress in Kite Print from the Dress Collection.
"For twirly, trendy and chic dresses for your little girl, take a look at the collection. Choose from strappy, long sleeved, ruffles or a-line -- all of the dresses are perfect for all day twirling and are machine washable. They are wash and wear – throw them in the laundry after a day of adventures and they come out looking as good as new."
This dress is a 5/6 and fits her really well. She is about 39 pounds and 45" tall. The dress is made from 47% organic cotton, 47% bamboo viscose, and 6% spandex. It is really soft and feels smooth on her skin, she does not complain about anything feeling itchy on her. It slips easily on and off and the straps stay put while she is wearing it. The style is very trendy and even has pockets, what little girl doesn't love pockets? I love that this dress can be casual enough for the playground or dressed up a jean jacket and boots for cooler temperatures. It can be both washed in cold and dried on low (always a plus for Mom)
Next, we found the Navy Stripe Headband from the Headband Collection.
This headband is a one size fits most, approximately 1-10 years old. It is made of 94% combed cotton and 6% spandex. It fits well on S's head and has quite a bit of stretch to it. It will fit her for quite awhile and that is a good thing. It is a thicker style band, which we are fans of, it is a popular look. It is also very lightweight and once she has it on, she can just go and go. It looks adorable with the Penny dress as well.
The next thing we came across was the Swirl Leggings in Hot Pink from the Legging Collection.
These leggings are size 5/6 and were a little big in the waist, but perfect on length. The leggings are made of 47% organic cotton, 47% bamboo viscose, and 6% spandex making for the perfect legging. They have just the right amount of stretch while being super soft and easy to play in. Around each ankle there is also a fun ruffle heart accent to give them a little flair. I really like that extra touch. I love them paired with the Penny Dress, but it also went perfectly with our last item from Nohi Kids.
The last thing we found was the Cecilia Ruffle Dress in Mod Floral from the Dress Collection and is also part of the NKtoo line from Nohi Kids.
The dress is a size 5/6 and was a bit big all around for S, but she still likes to wear it. It is made of 97% cotton and 3% spandex. It has a soft, hot pink bodice top with fun flowers and hearts. The bottom of the dress has 4 large ruffles covered in funky flowers. I like the versatility of this dress, you can wear it on its own or throw on leggings to change it up. S can easily play all day in this outfit and it washes very well.
Nohi Kids doesn't just have girls clothing. They also offer Mommy Lounge items, some adorable boy options including:
