Weekends with the Wigglesworths-Birthday Celebrations and Holiday Preparations

Hey there everyone and happy Saturday! Today we are celebrating Drew's birthday (she turned 8 on Thursday) with some family a little later on. Right now, the environment at Wigglesworth Manor is a mixture of chaos and anxiety as we try to finish up the last minute preparations for Drew's party guests. This happens every year, and every year I say something to the effect of "next year we should have her party at   (insert local fun spot to have a birthday here) " . Then, every year, about a month or so before her birthday arrives, I convince myself that we should have her party at home, that it's not so bad, that things always work out, and yada yada yada.

This year Drew announced that she would like the theme of her party to be hearts. Thankfully, since it is nearly Thanksgiving, I was able to find VALENTINE'S DAY decorations at our local Dollar Tree. The only thing I wasn't able to get my hands on was a heart shaped cake pan, so we ended up making a heart shaped cake by using a square cake pan  and a circle cake pan.

Once the party is over, we will be finishing up our Thanksgiving preparations (meal plans, decorations, how we will surprise Gram this year, etc.). I honestly am just looking forward to eating some turkey (and trimmings) and then using leftovers for homemade turkey soup. Then, on Friday, we will start prepping the house for Christmas and start planning our Christmas Eve party! I'm tired just thinking about it all.

What are your plans for this weekend? I hope whatever you do, you have a great time full of love and laughter!
