My little chef got a big surprise for his birthday from our friends at LeapFrog. We were sent the new Number Lovin' Oven to play with, and boy, what a treat it has been for us! B just turned five, but he's always been interested in helping out in the kitchen. I love watching him in his little apron, helping me prepare dinner, baking a special treat, or even helping to put away dishes and such.

The Number Lovin' Oven from LeapFrog- a wonderful holiday gift idea!

The Number Lovin' Oven came packed in a brightly colored box. There was plastic covering the small pieces included, but not the actual toy oven. I love that you can actually try it out on the store shelf, before making your purchase. The oven toy has an adorable design with a happy, smiling face- a very inviting design to get kids interested in playing and learning.

We opened up the box and removed the toy oven, as well as the pieces that came with it: a frying pan, a fried egg, spatula, cupcakes, pizza, and pieces of bread. The oven has a removable tray, which can be taken out of the oven and placed back inside.

On top of the stove, there are two burners. One of them has a little button, and when an object is placed over it, the stove burner makes sounds- like sizzling for frying the egg. The sound/volume level is adjustable on the side of the oven, and can also be switched to the off position for quiet play.

The singing oven strengthens your child's vocabulary skills, as well as counting skills. There are 30+ phrases and songs, which play if you press the chef hat on the stove.The stove also features a row of numbers with a slider. The slider can be moved to explore temperature, time, and numbers.

We've been having a lot of fun with the Number Lovin' Oven. We love the songs, and we've been able to share the oven with a friend who comes over to play a lot, and she loves this toy, as well (she is almost three years old). It's so nice to see this toy being played with by more than one child, and the sharing and learning that takes place between older and younger children.
